Hi there,
I keep my horse in Arcadia (it is Galston/Dural way- about 40 mins from Sydney CBD) - full board (including rug changed and herbs/supplements in food and pretty much everything else $110 per week). You have to buy your own hay (though some hay is provided) - but that's b/c of the drought- it can get expensive- though I manage to pay about $16 a bale(for grade 2 hay - that's fairly good). Also most places out here have someone on site 24-7 so your horse sould be very well cared for.
Facilities are excellent- 2 sand arenas, roundyard, out in yard during day and stable at night! Horse is very happy and it is an excellent rountine! There is not much grass at the moment- and there looks like there will be a water surcharge added of $5 a week in summer- bc we are not on town water- but it really depends where you go!
There is are good riding clubs around here- and the competition scene is also really good.
Horse directory (www.horsedirectory.com.au) has a number of listings, also look up Yellow Pages. Generally standard of care out here is pretty good! I think we are full up at the moment- but you may like to ring around.

Hi We are about an hour-hour and half from sydney were in the country! We have to types of aggistment available. 1 is show horse aggistment were your horse is stabled and treated like royalty 2 is down the bottom in a huge paddock with other horses The show horses get 2 feeds a day with herbs etc plus hay for lunch, ruged, spoilt etc, And the bottom get 1 feed a day and there rugs changed, they also get herbs etc.
We have a huge indoor arena, trail rides to go on our own cross country track plus some show jumps,at the stables we have hot/cold water facilities for the horses.
Our aggistment costs $130 for the show horses and $70 a week for down the bottom
we also give ridding lessons and educating and also do show preparation and have lots of riding clinics with very highly edecated instructors that are very well known

Pity you dont think of moving to Qld. Fantastic horse property on the market and I'm going to make myself $10K for finding someone to buy it, acting as a spotter. Take a look at www.trakehner-breeders.com.au/property.htm
Anyone else who knows of someone moving to Qld looking for a similar property either contact the person direct or leave a message here!

I agist my horse in Windsor Downs outside Sydney. They have fairly big yards available for around $60 per week + using your feed. That includes rugging and unrugging. But not cleaning it.
It has a dressage arena, jump arena and a decent sized round yard. There is a 30 acre paddock you can ride in as well.

Can let you have paddock agistment 1 hr west of Sydney on 30 acres. $25 per week. Share a paddock with 2 to 3 others. Or individual paddock approx 5 acres. Good riding available both on the farm of nearby outside. Have available round yard, day yards, and basic stabling as required. I live in the city and commute in and out.

Oh My god - I cant believe you guys pay that much for agistment in SYD and the price of feed !!!! Oh my god... Im in Adelaide (Horses stables in suburbia 5 minute drive from my house and 25 mins from CBD) I pay $28 a week for a LARGE fully enclosed stable with a 1/2 acre sand day yard at the front. facilities include floodlit double size arena, floodlit round yard, morning feeds/rugs included, undercover wash bay + horse crush and shoing bay plus 50 acre paddock directly at the back of the agistment for riding - the paddock takes you through to a pony club. As for feed - Hay has just gone up but generally your looking at $5.95 for a Bale of Oaten Hay and $7.95 for GOOD luceren Hay. At the moment Oaten going for $7.95 and Luceren is $11.95 - Oaten chaff is a $13.80 a 25kg bag and Luceren Chaff is $16.95 a 25kg bag - As i said i just cant believe the prices you guys pay but i suppose its probably all relevant as you guys do get slightly higher wages

Hey there, was just reading about your paddock for agistment and was wondering if the offer still stands and where abouts it is? I have a 14yr old semi-retired stock horse and am looking for a nice(and cheaper) place to keep him. He likes the company of other horses and is quite friendly I just dont get to see him enough where he is at the moment (takes me about 45mins) and is a bit far to go and groom him everyday! I live around Revesby in sydney. Any help would be great thanks!!

Hi there, I agist out at Mount View, Appin which is around 50 minutes out of Sydney just down the M5 motorway. It cost $100 per month. There's about 400 acres of riding tracks and there's always someone to go riding with on weekends. I love having my horse there, she gets very well looked after.

Hi! I have my horse in Terry Hills.Prices for board are fairly high all over the Northern Beaches area and the place I keep Jack is no exception-HOWEVER I can honestly say it's the best place I have found localy:very small (only 5 boarders-maximum 10 horses),individual grass paddocks, huge open stables with day yards attached, enormous covered dressage arena, direct access to trails and most importantly realy loving attention for the horse and great atmosphere for the riders! It's pricey at 230+gst,but deffinitely worth it!There's a spot comming up end of the month...

Just wondering about your contact details as I am looking to move my horse from the mountains. She needs to be with others, but does not suit a herd situation (stresses and drops condition fast).

I used to keep a gelding in at Centennial Park stables and I was pleasantly suprised. It was hard work, going out twice a day but it was worth it for the wonderful facities and the closeness to the CBD. It was costing me $150 a week for everything- feed, stable, shoeing etc. That was with me buying my own stuff and doing all the work. About $100 more to have someone else do that stuff. I'm on an acerage now so don't have to worry about agistment anymore.
