Hi There, I have used both versions of Po10 and found them both to be too agressive for mine, no matter how conservative the parameters were set.I found the later version way too glitchy on my notebook...not sure why it gave drama but I wasnt the only person to experience this if this forum is anything to go by. The concept sounds great in theory and may suit your modus operandi better than mine. For a lot less money you may like to consider the winform professional staking plan software. It suits me because it's not chasing losses and instead capitalises on winning runs. very basic but sound principle and doesnt go into a spin in losing streaks. You can read about this software in one of the winform books on sale. You dont have to buy the software,..you can apply it manually if you like, but for about $35 why would you? I havent tried money factory or powerbet. cheers steve

Hi Jimbo, I have Money Factory. If you reckon you can predict your winning and losing percentages then it is excellent software although it is not cheap. Parameters can be set conservatively but I'll quote you a paragraph taken from an old punting book - and it probably still holds true today: "Punters who are unable to resist staking plans are strongly advised to adopt one which involves increasing bets after winners rather than increasing bets after losers. Winning or losing sequences cannot be predicted." The Winform Professional Staking Plan is excellent software, is cheap, easy to use and as Steve says, capitalises on winning runs. The PPFA Staker is also cheap and also capitalises on winning runs. Regards, Dave quandialla |

Hi Jimbo, Dave and Norm, I see I was a bit out on price there..still a bargain when to compared to the other software mentioned here, and there was a deal on buying the book and the software together.I will mention also that pro staking plan allows one to use the current bet amount for an entire days racing, or you can bet race to race and have fluctuating bet amounts, dependent on bank balance., whichever suits you best. I personally like to bet a smaller percentage of bank than what the Pro software recommends in its default settings. It is easy enough to simply key in a lower strike rate in order to arrive at a more conservative percentage-of-bank betting units. Example a 21% strike rate in the software will auto set your betting unit to 2% units, whereas i would prefer to run that at 1%. By typing in "12%" as the strike rate, I can arrive at my preferred 1% of bank. Being able to cut and paste your bet selector selections into PSP would be nice, and the above posted link to an excel version would enable this I imagine. Stebbo's bet tracker can be set to basically do what PSP does..(you can set it to bet percentage of bank). You would just have to keep an eye on the bank balance to manually identify when it either doubles or halves. PSP does this automatically. With Stebbo's BT you can cut and paste your selections and save on typing. cheers steve |

LAST CUT AND PASTE"Being able to cut and paste your bet selector selections into PSP would be nice, and the above posted link to an excel version would enable this I imagine." ... The Edit Box in Windows software allows for Cut and Paste. To Copy Bet Selector Selections into PSP... Copy the Bet Selector Selection Right Click in the Horse Edit Box of PSP and a Menu is displayed. Select Paste and the contents of the Clipboard will be copied into the edit box. |
