i was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere in sydney (northern suburbs/beaches) where i could lease a horse?....because i dont have enough money, time or experience to buy my own horse just yet
Also Samarai Park in Terrey Hills has horses available for half lease 3 days a week but they're a little expensive at $160/week including a lesson once a week. They have some nice horses there though and really good facilities. They have 2 dressage arenas, 1 huge jump arena that always has jumps set up in it, and a smaller lunge arena for beginners lessons or to exercise your horse.

Not sure about Northern Beaches but if you don't mind travelling out Windsor way you can part lease and learn to jump at Oakville Equestrian as well. They also truck your horse to local comps so you can enter classes

Check the noticeboard up at Terrey Hills Saddlery on Myoora Rd, Terrey Hills. Or call them 9450 2284.
For $80/wk you will have to look at privately owned horses and not all of these are going to be suitable.
Be very clear what your riding abilities are and what sort of activities you are interested in doing with the horse.
You will also have to work out what days you can come up and what days you can't so that you can share the horse with the owner. I would try and go with leasing in a riding school environment first because there are always people around to help out. If you're doing it on your own it can be difficult because there may not be people around to help you out. There will also be a lot of younger people there doing the same stuff as you which makes it more fun!
You'll actually learn a lot more from leasing in a riding school because you'll have a lot more supervision. It's more expensive but it's worth it. Horses ARE expensive animals! Maybe do 6 months leasing at a riding school and then look for something cheaper?

Hey just thought of someone else. There is a little riding school in North Ryde that part leases horses. She also structures different types of leases depending on what you can afford. So if your happy with a part lease of only a couple of days a week rather than leasing for 7 days then it is cheaper. Might be worth looking into as well and they are very nice people

I know someone who may be wanting to lease out her horse in Duffy's Forest. She was still looking until a week ago, so let me know if you want to know more and I can pass on your info.

Just to let you, this lady may be interested in only part leasing her boy from what she's told me. Think that's what you're after though. I also have no idea of the rider level that the horse requires etc or what she's looking for. Might be worth asking though.
