It will be the second Lindsay Park Classic Collection Sale held. The first ten years ago lived up to it's title of a "classic."

Lindsay Park's principal David Hayes explained that the stud's mare numbers have become too large.

"Our mare numbers have increased to a level where I now have too many broodmares, as was the case with Dad ten years ago," Hayes said.

"Over the nest ten years we will be again building a new team of broodmares that will hopefully be as successful as those we are selling in April."

"We have been delighted with the performance of our two stallions Jeune and Fraar and we are in a position to expand our stallion roster again in the near future," Hayes added.

One of the stars of the sale looks set to be the broodmare Biscay Bird. A daughter of Bluebird, Biscay Bird is the current Victorian Broodmare of the Year. She is of course responsible for the runaway AJC Derby winner Universal Prince.

Dangerous Seam, a stakes winning Straight Strike mare herself, is also going under the hammer. She is the dam of former brilliant juvenile Real Jester. The mare is in foal to Rory's Jester, thus giving the buyer an instant full relation to a stakes winner.
