Here is her half brother by the Champion 3YO Miler Desert Prince, a son of Green Desert. The grey colt is also a half brother to French stakes performer Hook Line and the dam of Japanese stakes galloper White Happiness. Magical Miss was a $520,000 purchase, being a daughter of Danehill.

036 Peintre Celebre-My Brilliant Star colt

My Brilliant Star was well named. She won the AJC Oaks in Sydney and was Group One placed in both Adelaide and Sydney as a three-year-old. At stud she has also starred. She is the dam of Perth stakes winners Shot of Thunder (twice G1 placed) and Celebrity Princess. From the family of recent G1 winner Sudurka.

This is the first foal of the Great Britain winning Dayjur mare Duelling Girl. She is a three quarter sister to the Group winner Always Fair and stakes winner Asaasy. She is also a half sister to the Group Two winner and dual Group One placed Faithful Son (he also ran fourth in a Caulfield Cup). Lot 80
Vendor: Collingrove Stud (as agent for The Pines Stud)

This is the striking first foal of the Magic Millions and Maribyrnong Plate winning Rory's Jester mare Catnipped. A strong bodied Danehill colt this fellow is the three quarter brother to Magic Millions runner-up Chuckle and from a moving family that includes Finishing School and Consular as well as G1 winners Ivory's Irish and Alynda.

033 Zabeel-Misty Gulch colt

Lot 316
Vendor: The Oaks Stud

From The Oaks comes this bay colt who is by the champion Cambridge based Zabeel and out of an unraced three quarter sister to the champion racehorse and now leading sire Cryptoclearance. From a prolific Group One winning family that includes Duke of Marmalade, Latin American, Gabina, Galetto, Goldmark and George Navonod.

032 Grand Lodge-Autumn Collection filly

Lot 34
Vendor: Woodlands Stud (as agent for P & JA Twigg)

Autumn Lodge probably isn't well know to Australians but she is definitely known by those in South Africa. She took that country by storm when she won six races in a row including the G2 Golden Slipper at Clairwood Park. This is her full sister on offer at Easter 2002. Autumn Lodge was sold for $250,000 when the mare was unproven as a producer so I would be expecting a figure over the $300,000 mare this year.

031 Flying Spur-Lurestina colt

lurestina.jpg (17960 bytes)

Lot 286
Vendor: Arrowfield Stud (as agent)

Lurestina done the job on the track, now she is beginning to fly the flag in good fashion at stud. A Group One winner in New Zealand she is now better known as the dam of recent star juvenile Miss Bussell, who was by Danzero, a son of Danehill - and yes Flying Spur is a son of Danehill so it's a match made in heaven.

030 Marscay-Snowdrift colt

Lot 443
Vendor: Stratheden Stud

I wouldn't get in the way of Mrs Waterhouse when this fellow comes in te ring on the third and final day of the sale. As the trainer of this colt's only half relation yet to race, the speedy Snowland, you can expect Gai to be hot to chase this brown colt. Gai is also a big fan of Marscay. This of course is one of the few offerings from the final crop of the ill fated Marscay. Snowdrift is a daughter of the European stakes winner Snowtop.

029 Danehill-Kapchat filly

kapchat.jpg (19704 bytes)

Lot 241
Vendor: Collingrove Stud

Princesa, a Flemington winner and stakes placed performer over the Adelaide Cup Carnival last year, is a full sister to this attractive filly. The filly has every chance as she is one of the youngsters who is by a Group One winner (and champion sire) from a Group One winner (and proven stakes producer). You couldn't really go wrong with this filly who must be very valuable even before she hits the track as a further broodmare. Kapchat's Octagonal youngster has been showing good signs at Lindsay Park in recent times.

028 Marscay-Olympic Aim colt

olympicaim.jpg (13231 bytes)

The colt is also a full brother to the stakes placed Rings of Gold, who ran fourth in a Rosehill Guineas (G1).

027 Royal Academy-St Bridget's Well colt

stbridgetswell.jpg (20524 bytes)

Lot 456
Vendor: Collingrove Stud

Next is the full brother to the Bill Stutt Stakes winner Sarson Trial, who like this youngster was also a grey. Sarson Trail won three races in Australia and he is now matching it with the best in Macau. St Bridget's Well, a Three Legs mare, was a stakes winner in Sydney and is a half sister to Bold Show (3rd at G3).

026 Danehill-Kenbelle colt

kenbelle.jpg (24629 bytes)

Lot 245
Vendor: Collingrove Stud

At the 2000 Easter sale a full brother to this yearling sold for an impressive $500,000 and by the looks of this fellow he could well sell for a figure in excess of that. He is from the AJC Oaks winner Kenbelle, who is a half sister to Todman Slipper Trial winner Auranch and two other stakes performers. By the mighty Danehill out a Group One winner - is there anything else you may require?

025 Zabeel-Assertive Lass colt

Lot 30
Vendor: Twin Palms Stud

A winner of seven races Assertive Lass is bred as good as they can get. She is a full sister to the Champion 2YO and Doncaster Handicap winner Assertive Lad. Last year the full brother to this fellow was knocked down for an impressive $425,000. He is just another member of the select group from Twin Palms Stud.

024 Quest for Fame-Leica Pretender colt

Lot 270
Vendor: Twin Palms Stud

A nice early August foal this colt is the half brother to Gai Waterhouse's VRC Derby winner and Melbourne Cup runner-up Nothin' Leica Dane, who himself has made an impressive start to his stud career. Leica Pretender, who is a half sister to Group winner Tell Fibs, is also the dam of stakes winner Thrilling Day and the stakes placed pair of She's a Pretender and Star of Light.

023 Danehill-Verocative colt

Lot 529
Vendor: Highgrove Stud

Another youngster by Danehill who is sure to appeal is this bay colt from the Group Three winning mare Verocative. A daughter of Bletchingly, Verocative was a stakes winner in both Melbourne and Sydney. He is from the family of Champion 2YO Zeditave and handy types Unison, Alannon, Pampas Fire, Zedagal and Square Deal.

022 Thunder Gulch-Bespoken filly

bespoken.jpg (17020 bytes)

Lot 45
Vendor: Coolmore Australia (as agent)

Bel Esprit, was an unbeaten Group One winner before his luckless run in the Golden Slipper, and this is his half sister by the former top class galloper and promising sire Thunder Gulch. Bespoken's daughter Smarchat broke through for victory earlier this week in New South Wales.

021 Danehill-Marigot Bay filly

marigotbay.jpg (18937 bytes)

Lot 298
Vendor: Coolmore Australia (as agent)

Langoustine was a $500,000 yearling purchase and she was a Group Two winner at two and this is her three quarter sister. Closely related to champion sires like Storm Cat and Royal Academy this filly is from the stakes placed Irish performer Marigot Bay.
