02/05/02 Sydney Set for Select Weanling Sale
The 2002 Australian Select Weanling Sale will be held at the William Inglis & Son Newmarket Complex in Sydney tomorrow.

Some 320 lots will be offered in the sale which kicks away at 10am (EST).

All of the country's leading stallions will be represented including Belong to Me, Canny Lad, Catbird, Danehill, Danehill Dancer, Danewin, Danzero, Desert King, Desert Sun, Encosta de Lago, End Sweep, Fasliyev, Favorite Trick, Fuji Kiseki, General Nediym, Grand Lodge, Hennessy, Honour and Glory, Jeune, King of Kings, Marauding, Nureyev, Octagonal, Orpen, Quest for Fame, Red Ransom, Redoute's Choice, Shovhog, Snippets, Spectrum, Strategic, Thunder Gulch, Timber Country, Xaar and Zeditave.

The feature lots include (in catalogue order):

Lot 14 - chestnut filly by Sunday Silence's Group One winning son and promising sire Fuji Kiseki. She is out of the SAJC Oaks winner Cherontessa.

Lot 30 - bay filly by the king of breeding Danehill out of the European Group placed performer Deadly Nightshade. The filly is the first foal of the mare, who is out of the Champion Filly Dead Certain.

Lot 39 - bay colt by Danehill's Champion and Group One winner Redoute's Choice. From the Group One winning Marauding mare Euphoria. The colt is a half brother to Melbourne stakes winner Fleet.

Lot 45 - bay colt by Thunder Gulch, last year's Champion US sire, and from the unraced half sister to Group Two star Missionary Ridge and French Group winner Seismic Wave. The colt is a half brother to the multiple stakes placed performer Ideal Virtue and the dam of Group Three winner Sunday Gold.

Lot 48 - brown colt by Zabeel's champion racetrack and rising stud sensational son Octagonal. He is from a winning three quarter sister to Frontier Boy and half sister to Dundas Lane.

Lot 73 - bay colt by Champion galloper Fasliyev out of the lightly raced three quarter sister to Group One winner Buryyourbelief.

Lot 81 - bay colt by Spectrum, a Classic winning son of Rainbow Quest, and out of the four time winning Sovereign Edition mare Lady Blandford. The colt is a half brother to the Group winner and Group One runner-up Tripping.

Lot 86 - chestnut filly by Champion American 3YO Real Quiet, a son of Quiet American, and out of the three time winning Lunchtime mare Langham. The filly is a half sister to the stakes winner Zedavite.

Lot 87 - bay filly by former Champion Irish Miler Second Empire, a French Group One winning son of Fairy King. She is from the WA Oaks winner Leeuwin Concert.

Lot 90 - chestnut filly by Dr Fong, a stakes winning son of the mighty Kris S. The filly is from an unraced half sister to Stage Hit, the dam of Encores, Irradiate, Sir Laureance and Preview (dam of Pillaging).

Lot 91 - brown colt by Woodman's Champion son Way of Light. He is a half brother to the dual Group One winning two-year-old Juanmo.

Lot 118 - bay colt by Real Quiet from a lightly raced Miswaki mare who is a half sister to the Champion European mare Miss Alleged.

Lot 119 - the brown colt by Danehill's Champion son Danewin is from the stakes placed Risen Star mare Misty Baby. She is a half sister to the dual Group winner Sintra.

Lot 123 - bay filly by the Classic winner Spectrum. She is a half sister to stakes placed Sydney galloper Summa Cum Laude.

Lot 126 - brown filly by Sunday Silence's impressive young son Fuji Kiseki out of the half sister to Pride of Ingenue, Motown Blue and Forever Ingenue.

Lot 135 - brown colt by Storm Cat's Group One winning two-year-old Hennessy. He is from the Auckland Cup placegetter North Lady, a three time winner by Gold and Ivory.

Lot 146 - bay colt by Sunline's stakes placed sire Desert Sun. He is from the multiple stakes winning and Group One placed Logical mare Palm Beach.

Lot 152 - brown filly by Champion galloper and exciting young sire Octagonal, she is from the half sister to Very Droll (dam of Ha Ha). Family of Champion 2YO and sire Rory's Jester.

Lot 161 - bay colt by Redoute's Choice from Prickly Problem. The colt's sire was a Group One winning son of Danehill and his dam if an unraced Thorn Dance mare who is a three quarter sister to Muhayaa and half sister to Group One winner Bounding Basque and Group Two winner El Basco.

Lot 175 - bay colt by Honour and Glory from Rapide Pied. A half brother to the star South Australian sprinter Corps Commander, by the USA Leading First Season Sire of 2000, Honour and Glory, a Group One winning son of Relaunch.

Lot 180 - bay colt by Danehill's European champion son Desert King from Rickenbacker. The colt is a half brother to the New South Wales stakes winner The Essence.

Lot 199 - chestnut colt by Integra, the sire of champion galloper Intergaze. The colt is a half brother to the stakes winning three-year-old Seasquill.

Lot 201 - brown colt by Second Empire from the Group Three winning Khozaam mare Seattle Gem. He is a half brother to recent stakes winner How About That.

Lot 206 - chestnut colt by Strategic, a stallion who's in great form. The colt is a half brother to the stakes winners Sublimate and Daring Hombre.

Lot 215 - half brother to recent Melbourne winner and stakes performer Feel the Noise. He is a chestnut colt by Marquetry, a stakes winner and from the seven time winner Slade, a daughter of Chimes Square.

Lot 228 - bay colt by the top stallion Grand Lodge out of the New Zealand Oaks winner Starline. That makes the colt a half brother to the Group winner Starry Way.

Lot 242 - chestnut colt by the stakes placed Eire, a son of Bletchingly. The colt is from the VRC Oaks winner Taj Eclipse.

Lot 244 - bay filly by the Champion French 2YO Way of Light, out of the three quarter sister in blood to Camarena. The dam of the filly is by the mighty Danehill.

Lot 258 - bay filly by Red Ransom, a champion Freshman sire in America, out of the Champion 2YO Filly of South Africa Tracy's Element, a daughter of Last Tycoon. Family of Danasinga, Cullen, Princess Tracy etc.

Lot 259 - bay colt by Octagonal, the sire of Lonhro and Hosannah, from the Group Three winning mare Trivia Lass.

Lot 264 - chestnut filly by Peintre Celebre, an Arc winning European Horse of the Year, from the unraced half sister to Flying Luskin and Cosmic Kingdom. The filly is a half sister to Group One South African galloper The Delegator.

Lot 275 - brown filly by Danzero, a Group One winning son of Danehill, from the stakes winner You Know When.

Lot 286 - chestnut filly by the Golden Slipper winning son of Danehill, Catbird. She is a half sister to the stakes winning Adelaide galloper Hand Pass, being from the stakes placed Godswalk mare Al Raabi.

Lot 290 - chestnut filly closely related to the Champion Filly Ha Ha. She is by Danehill's son Akhadan, from a lightly raced daughter of Very Droll, who is the dam of both Ha Ha and Dry Humour.
