Macdonald has nominated both Defiant
and Gucci Guru to contest different two-year-old trials over 688 metres at Cheltenham.
Gucci Guru, a half sister to Macdonald's former Australian
champion three-year-old Gold Guru and Australasian Oaks placegetter Glitzy Guru, will step
out in the second trial of the morning.
Defiant is the daughter of the former top racemare Ruffles.
On the track Ruffles, a daughter of Zeditave, won the Newmarket Handicap after a dashing
ride by Shane Dye.
Adelaide Cup and Magic Millions winning jockey Jason Holder
will be riding both well bred fillies on Monday.
Other intersting triallers at Cheltenham Park include
Spinning Eagle, the first youngster by freshman sire Spinning World to be seen in public
in Adelaide. Spinning Eagle, as her name suggests was bred and is raced by Wolf Blass and
is in the stables of Adelaide Cup winning trainer Jim Smith.
The John Hawkes stable will also be galloping a number of
either unraced or lightly raced two and three-year-olds during the session.
Meanwhile, there will be plenty of interest in the return of
last start city winner We Will Rock You qwho is being aimed toward the Magic Millions
Adelaide Classic at Cheltenham next month.
