New Zealand-owned stallion Generous (Ire) (pictured in
winning style above) has hit the headlines again with the thrilling win by Golan in
Saturdays $NZ2Million-plus King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Royal
Ascot.
Golan is by Spectrum out of the Generous mare, Highland
Gift. Last year Golan helped make Generous the youngest sire (by three years) on the top
100 broodmare list and this weekends performance is likely to propel him well above the
seventh position he filled last year.
The oldest Southern Hemisphere crops of Generous are now
rising two year olds and it is an exciting time for all concerned the trainers,
breeders and Glenmorgan Farm itself.
Among the leading trans-tasman trainers with progeny of
Generous in their stables are Bart Cummings, Graeme Rogerson and Murray Baker. |
