Last year, the
pocket dynamo Palidamah was revealed as the cheapest stakes-winner of the season sold by
William Inglis and Son Ltd.
This year however, she has been pipped at the post by West
Australian based three year old Lord Mason, a $3,000 purchase at the 1999 June Weanling
Sale in Melbourne.
The son of Kenvain was subsequently re-offered for sale as a yearling, finding his way
to the Perth stable of Vernon Brockman, who is also listed as a part owner.
Lord Mason has put together a tidy record, winning five races from eight starts
including two Listed events and the Magic Millions Perth 3YO Classic.
He beat all but the filly Honor Lap, when running second in
the WATC Derby Gr 1 and has returned connections more than $250,000 to date.
