04/02/02 Adelaide Sale: Collingrove Offer Three Quarter to Liberty Rose

portraitcollector.jpg (23149 bytes)

The Lindsay Park Guineas winner Liberty Rose is one of South Australia’s most popular gallopers. One of the most successful members of the Group One Racing Club Syndicate, the daughter of Royal Academy has a three quarter sister who is catalogued for sale at this month’s Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

A member of the quality Collingrove Stud draft the bay filly (pictured above) is set to be one of the star fillies during the early selling on the first of three days of selling.

The filly’s dam comes from a great family. A winning daughter of Sir Tristram she is a half sister to the stakes winners Equal Rights and Freedom Fields, both Group Three winners. Freedom Fields is the dam of Group One placed Liberty Hall and the unraced dam of Liberty Rose.

Another high class galloper in the family is the former brilliant kiwi based performer Facing the Music. A Guineas Group One winner she went on to run second in the Group One New Zealand Oaks at three.

Royal Academy is the sire of Group One stars Val Royal, Oscar Schindler, Ali-Royal, Carmine Lake, Sleepytime and Kenwood Melody. But it’s one of his youngsters that is keeping his name in the headlines as we speak.

Bel Esprit, a brilliant youngster from the John Symons stable, is killing them in Melbourne’s feature two-year-old races. He will start favourite in the million dollar Blue Diamond Stakes later this month.
