12/02/02 Adelaide Sale: Guru's Three Quarter a Golden Lot
There was no surprise when the locally bred and owned gelding Gold Guru was unanimously chosen as Australia’s Champion Three-Year-Old in 1998.

During his three-year-old season Gold Guru was nothing short of sensational. Wins in the Australian Derby, Australian Guineas, Ranvet Stakes, AAMI Classic and AAMI Vase were all basically a cakewalk for the star son of Geiger Counter.

Gold Guru went through the Adelaide Sales Complex as a yearling and so will lot 186, also a colt, also by Geiger Counter and from a sister to Proud Halo.

Proud Halo is of course the dam of Gold Guru as well as Group One placed Glitzy Guru and recent city winner Gorgeous Guru. The latest addition to the Proud Halo family is Gucci Guru – a daughter of Danehill her recent debut run was full of merit.

The three quarter brother to Gold Guru, who was crowned as South Australia’s Horse of the Year in 1998, is SABIS and VOBIS qualified, thus giving connections the chance to race for thousands of extra dollars during his two and three-year-old seasons on the track.
