14/02/02 Adelaide MM Raceday Guide
Date: Saturday 16th February
Venue: Cheltenham Park

Status

The Magic Millions Classic shares the accolade of being Adelaide's most valuable racing event with the Smoke free Adelaide Cup.

The race is restricted to horses sold through the Magic Millions Sales company, an organisation owned by entrepreneurs John Singleton, Gerry Harvey and Rob Ferguson.

The race day

Magic Millions day is a highlight of the racing season. The horses attracted to the meeting hail from across the country.

As well as the Magic Millions race itself, the day features two other top class races - The $272,000 Grp 2 Swettenham Stud Stakes which attracts Australia's leading fillies and mares to chase the valuable prize and the Colin Hayes Memorial Cup - named in honour of one of the racing's true legends.

The social day

The Magic Millions name conjures up colour, vibrancy and excitement and that's exactly what racegoers can expect to find on course this Saturday.

There will be fashion parades, live bands, dancers and of course the always keenly contested fashions-on-the-field competition with some valuable prizes up for grabs.

For kids there will be face painting and pony rides as well as other Junior Jock Club activities.
