30/12/01 Lockyer Won't Be Rocking in Queensland's Millions
Despite being guaranteed a berth in the $1 million Conrad Jupiter's Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast, last start Adelaide winner I Will Rock You won't be heading north.

Trained by Joe Lockyer, the bargain buy at the Adelaide Yearling Sale in February, I Will Rock You is a winner of one of his two starts to date and is showing great promise for the future.

Lockyer, a former jockey and now Morphettville based trainer, however has given up the opportunity to race against Australia's leading trainers and will look closer to home for his biggest win.

"After his win at Victoria Park his owner requested we give him a short break and set him for the Magic Millions race here in Adelaide," Lockyer said.

"A few people have been telling me that this year's race in Queensland is weaker than it has been, but my horse is definitely not going."

"We're hoping to run well in the race here in Adelaide (now at Cheltenham)," Lockyer added.

Lockyer's decision is set to please at least one rival trainer who will now be able to start their charge in the million dollar dash in just under a fortnight.

We Will Rock You mean time is back in work at Lockyer's Morphettville stables and will race at least once in Adelaide before tackling the $400,000 event.

The second ever Adelaide Magic Millions will be run at Cheltenham Park (Morphettville is currently under reconstruction) in February.
