RACE 1: MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 METRES 6 STARTERS

Stewards inquired into an incident at about the 450 metre mark where PRINCESS ARK (D Oakford (a)) had to be eased. Stewards found that the incident was a result of Apprentice D TURNER allowing his mount JAY ARE ARE to shift inwards when not sufficiently clear of PRINCESS ARK. Apprentice D TURNER (a) rider of JAY ARE ARE was severely reprimanded by Stewards for his actions and was informed that he will be dealt with much more severely in future.

1ST ALKANZA 2ND LA MEXA 3RD JAY ARE ARE

RACE 2: CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1100 METRES 6 STARTERS

ASSIFF (T Gillett) jumped outwards as start effected, forcing CONCENTO (S Burrows) onto FOREVER JUDE (D Turner (a)). SWITCHBY (B Cornell) shifted in at about the 1000 metre mark, slightly inconveniencing WELL OFF (G Chambers)

1ST SWITCHBY 2ND PAINTER 3RD WELL OFF

RACE 3: CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 8 STARTERS

G CHAMBERS replaced T GILLETT as the rider of DANGER’S PRIDE when T GILLETT became indisposed. PRIDE OF DERRY (T Norton) jumped awkwardly as start effected. At about the 400 metre mark ST. MILLI (B Cornell) was inclined to lay in on SONIC SWITCH (B Huppatz) who in turn was forced in onto SARRAZIN (D Turner (a)). Jockey B CORNELL, rider of ST. MILLI was informed by Stewards that he must make much more effort to relieve the pressure on those horses racing on his inside in these situations in future or action may be taken against him. BLARNEY BOY cast a nearside hind plate in running.

RACE 4: CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 7 STARTERS

Elizabeth’s Fury was a late scratching by order of the Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 2.21pm. Trainer of ELIZABETH’S FURY Mr P MOODY will be advised that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness before ELIZABETH’S FURY is permitted to start again. Jockey B HUPPATZ replaced T GILLETT on MENTION THAT PLACE when T GILLETT was indisposed. HARMONY MIST (S Burrows) was slow to begin.

GENERAL

Apprentice D TURNER was charged by Stewards under ARR160B (3) with having a mobile phone in his possession in the Jockey’s Room. Apprentice D TURNER pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $200.

All winners were swabbed.
