          Ms T. Gray was permitted to replace M. Allen as there were
            no other senior riders available. V. Duric was severely reprimanded for being unable to fulfil
            his engagement due to being overweight.  Race 1 -TOOHEYS NEW SUPER VOBIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE
         "KENRIVA" began awkwardly and lost ground and
        "BALLYALICE" was slow to begin. Near the 200 metres "KATIE LOU"
        shifted out and brushed "KELTRICITY". Race 2 - TERRY WHITE CHEMISTS MAIDEN PLATE (1)
         At the entrance to the straight "CELTIC PEACE"
        and "HE'S A GUN" bumped due to both horses shifting ground.  Shortly after this incident "ARKMANN" which was
        weakening, had to be eased when tightened for room by "DANCERE" which after
        obtaining a narrow run on the inside of "HE'S A GUN", was taken in by that
        gelding. A. Darmanin rider of "HE'S A GUN" was notified he must do his utmost to
        keep his mount straight and protect his fellow riders at all times.  Race 3 -BAIRNSDALE LOCKSMITHS MAIDEN PLATE (2)
         In the early and middle stages of the race "OCEAN
        LAKE" raced ungenerously. From the 600 metres until the entrance to the straight,
        "RAAZAULAR" was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.  Race 4 -RON POKE FUNERALS MAIDEN PLATE (1)
         Prior to being loaded into it's barrier stall
        "BAROMETER FALLING" struck the running rail and sustained a cut to it's off hind
        leg. "BAROMETER FALLING" was then examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon who
        reported that the gelding was unfit to run. Acting on this advice Stewards ordered the
        withdrawal of "BAROMETER FALLING" at 1.37 p.m. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession
        betting on "BAROMETER FALLING" to be refunded. All successful bets on horses
        prior to time of withdrawal of "BAROMETER FALLING" are subject to the following
        deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:Win Bets: 8 cents
 Place Bets: 8 cents
 Winning Concession Bets: 8 cents
 Doubles Bets: 8 cents
 All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of
        ticket.
 On jumping away "FLYING ARCH" knuckled.
        "FLYING ARCH" then shifted out and hampered "LARA TYCOON" and
        "BRYDAN".  Near the 1200 metres "RULING RANCH" had to be
        eased to avoid the heels of "FLYING ARCH" which shifted out.  Shortly after this incident "LARA TYCOON" shifted
        in across the heels of "STAR OF DAWN" and in doing so struck the running rail.  In the home straight "RULING RANCH" had a
        tendency to lay in under pressure.  On return to scale the Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported
        that "STAR OF DAWN", which had been eased down in the straight, had been
        galloped on the off hind leg.  Race 5 -LAKES ENTRANCE MINI GOLF MAIDEN PLATE (2)
         Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Mr. S. Webb,
        trainer of "JARAJI" who stated that the filly was suffering an elevated
        temperature, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of "JARAJI" at 9.55 a.m. Mr. Webb
        will submit a Veterinary Certificate to the Club in respect of "JARAJI". On jumping away 2 was tightened for room between "SIR
        GALAWAY" and "RHAPSODY IN RED" which shifted out.  Passing the 600 metres and rounding the home turn "SIR
        GALAWAY" was held up for a run.  At the entrance to the straight "DIESEL CLAUSE",
        which had been taken out slightly by "BOORTKOI BREAKER" had to be checked to
        avoid the heels of "NICKELS AND DIMES" which shifted in slightly. In the
        straight "SIR GALAWAY" had a tendency to lay in under pressure. Race 6 -EAST COAST PLUMBING SUPPLIES CLASS 1
        HANDICAP  Turning out of the straight "CARDASH" had to be
        checked off the heels of "RACING DOT" which shifted out. After passing the 200 metres "SUPREME KNIGHT" had
        to be checked when tightened for room between "BRIAG" and "BROTHER
        DANIEL" which after initially shifting out away from "FIRST BLEND (NZ)" was
        then taken out further by that mare. Subsequent to the event the Club's Veterinary Surgeon
        reported that "STAR OF SALE" was bleeding from one nostril. Under the Rules of
        Racing "STAR OF SALE" is deemed not to be a bleeder. Race 7- PEELS TOURIST & FERRY SERVICES LAKES
        ENTRANCE CUP  "BEAU TIES" jumped away awkwardly.  Just prior to straightening "SILVER REBEL" had to
        be eased to avoid the heels of "HOLY GRAIL (NZ)" which shifted in. Approaching the 200 metres "HOLY GRAIL (NZ)"
        changed course to obtain a run on the outside of "BOORTKOI PHANTOM". Race 8 - LAKES CENTRAL HOTEL MOTEL CLASS 3
        HANDICAP  On jumping away "NO OTHER PLAYER" was hampered
        when tightened for room between "RARE TRYST" which shifted in and "THREAD
        NEEDLE" which was taken out by "POOKY BEAR". Race 9 - 8 RAR-LONG HAI MEMORIAL CLASS 4 HANDICAP
         Prior to correct weight being declared Miss S. Wynne rider
        of 1, third placegetter, requested to view the Stewards' patrol video rounding the home
        turn with a view to lodging an objection. After viewing the patrol Video and the TV
        version of the race, Miss Wynne decided not to proceed with an objection. Near the 400 metres "BOORTKOI MUSTANG" had to be
        checked when tightened for room between "GOLD DEPUTY" and "ARGENT
        RULER" (V. Duric) which had a tendency to hang out then shifted out. After taking
        into account that "ARGENT RULER" had a tendency to lay out, Stewards took no
        action other than to severely reprimand V. Duric and notify him that he must endeavour to
        keep his mounts straight when placed in similar circumstances in the future.  In the early part of the straight "BOREMAX" was
        inconvenienced by "PARADISE D'OR" which shifted in when improving. Race 10 - RSL GLENARA DIGGERS CLASS 1 HANDICAP
         "MOOKCOLLO" and "KARANGI LASS" were
        slow to begin. Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the
        straight "BONNY BREW" was held up. In the straight "BONNY BREW" had a tendency to
        lay in under pressure. AJOURNED INQUIRIES  Stewards adjourned an inquiry into M. Allen being
        unavailable to fulfil his engagements.  SWAB SAMPLES - Race 1 - Random swab - SPIRACI the winner of the
