        Plate (1) - 1300m Alumni jumped away awkwardly. Near the 600 metres Gemena shifted out and brushed Wild
        Ride and as a result Wild Ride became unbalanced. Rounding the home turn Blue Jewel, which had been held up
        for a run, was eased when tightened for room between Aux Cayes and Delightful Attire,
        which shifted out slightly. Race 2 - Ten Victoria SV 3YO F Maiden Plate (2) -
        1300m On the home turn Rapid Century had to be eased off the
        heels of Buissonniere. Race 3 - Great Western Maiden Plate - 1100m On jumping away Radioactive Star bounded in the air and as
        a result lost ground. Near the 700 metres Set Rhythm (NZ) was eased to avoid the
        heels of Ladies' Mile, which shifted in. Approaching the 200 metres Next Of Ken shifted in and had
        to be eased off the heels of Radioactive Star. Shortly after this Radioactive Star had to
        be checked off the heels of Times Ripe (N. Rawiller), which shifted out. Next Of Ken which
        was following, was hampered in consequence. N. Rawiller was severely reprimanded for
        permitting his mount to shift out when not sufficiently clear. Race 4 - Jody Richards Podiatry Class 2 Handicap -
        1000m On jumping away Street Market bounded in the air, shifted
        out and as a result tightened Mr. Pickering on to the hind quarters of Physical Graffiti,
        resulting in Mr. Pickering clipping the heels of that horse and almost falling. Throughout the race Street Market hung out. Race 5 - Pentax SV 3YO C & G Maiden Plate -
        1300m Gold Chief was slow to begin. Near the 800 metres As D'Or had to be eased when tightened
        for room between Skyworks, which shifted in slightly, and Platilla, which was taken out
        slightly by Shoota McGavin. Rounding the home turn and in the straight Chrysaetos hung
        out, resulting in S. Arnold, the colt's rider being unable to ride his mount out in his
        normal manner. Race 6 - B P & R M Carboon Open Handicap -
        2200m S. Baster rider of Zazzman, which performed below
        expectations, stated to the Stewards that the gelding travelled well until approaching the
        home turn and when put under pressure at that point, failed to respond to his riding.
        Baster added that as he believed there may have been something amiss with Zazzman, he
        eased the gelding down in the straight. A Veterinary examination subsequent to the race
        revealed no abnormality. Race 7 - Reservoir Hotel Class 2 Handicap - 2200m Passing the winning post the first time Cloud Dance (NZ)
        had to be eased off the heels of Pantani (NZ), which shifted in. Approaching the 900 metres French Medallion shifted in
        slightly and brushed Bites. Shortly after this Bites (B. White) shifted out to obtain a
        run on the outside of Cloud Dance (NZ) and as a result made contact with French Medallion
        and took that gelding out off its course. B. White was severely reprimanded and notified
        that he must ensure he has sufficient room when attempting runs in future. Race 8 - Tooheys New Class 3 Handicap - 1300m A Veterinary examination of Mighty Storm, which performed
        below expectations, failed to reveal any abnormality. Race 9 - Eat Well Live Well Class 1 Handicap -
        1600m Near the 700 metres Momento broke down and almost fell
        resulting in F Alesci rider of the filly being dislodged. Eleganz (NZ), which was
        following, was badly hampered, resulting in R. Aitken rider of the gelding also being
        dislodged. Broccosauris, Triathlon, Spiritito and Weekend Fling were all hampered in
        consequence. On the home turn Spiritito and Broccosaurus were hampered
        by the riderless Eleganz (NZ). SWAB SAMPLES Swab samples were taken from the following winners - Belle
        Stone (NZ) (Race 2), Silverbit (Race 6), Barton Gate (Race 8) |
