 RACE 1  BOB LINKE COLTS, GELDINGS
        AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE: ACT OF PARLIAMENT (S. Price) was
        slow to jump. TAGO (B. Vale) jumped away awkwardly.
        Subsequently TAGO was reluctant to race in the field and was inclined to lay out
        throughout the event. At the entrance to the straight the colt hung out severely. Subsequent to the race a Veterinary
        inspection of TAGO revealed no visible abnormalities. Mr. G. Penna, Trainer of TAGO, was advised
        the colt would be required to perform satisfactorily around a bend in an organised trial,
        before being accepted for a future event. RACE 2  PHILLIP GREATBATCH
        CLASS 3 HANDICAP: SWIFTLY (C. Symons) jumped away
        awkwardly. COLOMBO KING (M. Neilson) jumped away
        awkwardly and shifted out, brushing BARONESS ROSE (J. Bowditch). In the vicinity of the 400 metres BRIEF
        TRUTH (D. Tootell) shifted in and contacted the hind-quarters of SWIFTLY (C. Symons),
        resulting in that gelding becoming severely unbalanced. Shortly after SWIFTLY and BRIEF
        TRUTH brushed again. RACE 3  SNOW REINKE CLASS 5
        HANDICAP: ARJAYE (J. Holder) shifted in on
        jumping away and brushed ZAHEEM (H. McKechnie). A routine swab sample was taken from
        CLASSIC DREAM, winner of the race. RACE 4  HAROLD LANE CLASS 2
        HANDICAP: In the vicinity of the 900 metres
        LIMERICK FLYER (T. Creek), which was inclined to get its head up and race ungenerously,
        had to be eased to avoid the heels of ROYAL POINT (NZ) (B. Claridge), which shifted in. B.
        Claridge was severely reprimanded and advised in future to give riders on his inside the
        room to which they are entitled. In consequence LUCYS GIFT (C. Symons) had to be
        eased off the heels of LIMERICK FLYER. Near the 800 metres LIMERICK FLYER (T.
        Creek) was obliged to steady off the heels of ROYAL POINT (NZ) (B. Claridge), as the pace
        slowed. In consequence, LUCYS GIFT (C. Symons) was obliged to steady off the heels
        of LIMERICK FLYER. Inside the 300 metres LUCYS GIFT (C.
        Symons) shifted out and brushed LANCE CORPORAL (S. Cahill), which was inconvenienced. C. Symons was advised of his obligations
        when shifting ground. RACE 5  SPRING MAIDEN PLATE: LASSETER (P. Gatt) and PUNK (W.
        Kerford) jumped away awkwardly. Inside the 1000 metres LASSETER (P. Gatt),
        which commenced to race fiercely, was forced to check off the heels of RUBITON ROYALE (C.
        Symons). Inside the 400 metres DALNY ROAD (S.
        Cahill) shifted out to obtain a run outside JACK N TAN (B. Neville), which
        rolled out under pressure, resulting in RUBITON ROYALE (C. Symons) being inconvenienced. Subsequent to the race a Veterinary
        inspection of MALTHOUSE revealed the gelding sustained a puncture to its near fore
        pastern, which required First Aid. Subsequent to the race a Veterinary
        inspection of RUBITON ROYALE revealed the gelding to have received a laceration to the
        near hind cannon during the race. RACE 6  RAY WILLIAMS CLASS 1
        HANDICAP: GREY NURSE was withdrawn by
        Stewards at 1.42 p.m. acting on Veterinary advice that the mare had sustained general
        abrasions to its flanks and hind legs, resulting from trauma in being floated to the
        course. EL ZANA was inspected by the Clubs
        Veterinary Surgeon and ruled fit to race. PEKOE (D. Carney) was slow to jump and slow
        into stride in the early stages. Near the 1400 metres EL ZANA (J. Bowditch)
        and OUTLAWS (J. Lorensini) were tightened and inconvenienced for a short distance when
        tightened by HEALYS COMET (H. McKechnie), which shifted in. Near the 200 metres THE MAN OF ARMAGH (B.
        Claridge) was tightened for galloping room as a result of BUBBLING BY (J. Potter) shifting
        in, and DANCING EAGLE (J. Maund) shifting out. A routine swab sample was taken from
        CHOCOLATE ÉCLAIR, winner of the race. Subsequent to the race a Veterinary
        inspection of BUBBLING BY revealed that gelding to have sustained a laceration to the off
        fore pastern during the race. RACE 7  STAN EVANS/SABIS
        FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE: DUBAI CLARE (D. Carney) jumped away
        awkwardly. QUINTILLA (S. Price) was slow to jump, and
        shortly after was inconvenienced by JELDI JELDI (C. Lindop), which jumped away awkwardly
        and shifted out. In the vicinity of the 400 metres the
        saddle on RED SEEKER (C. Buchiw) shifted to the off side, resulting that rider being
        inconvenienced and unable to ride the mare out. Over the concluding 200 metres ISHKHARA (J.
        Holder) laid in under pressure. |
