        1 - MATRON BRADY SUPER VOBIS TWO-YEARS-OLD FILLIES HANDICAP  1000 metres:  Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Mr. Brian
        Mayfield-Smith, trainer of "Another Rainbow", who stated that the filly had an
        elevted temperature and was unfit to run, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of
        "Another Rainbow" at 8.55 a.m. A veterinary certificate has been submitted for
        the filly. "Joy of Flight" and "Divine Grace" were
        slow to begin. Shortly after the start "Mash Minx" was tightened
        for room between "Westbeach", which shifted out, and "Cassis", which
        shifted in slightly. On return to scale "Divine Magic" was found to be
        lame in the near fore leg.  Race 2 - BR. P. G. NANGLE SUPER VOBIS THREE-YEARS-OLD

        metres:  No report. SWAB SAMPLES were taken from
        "Cassis", the winner of the Matron Brady Super Vobis Two-Years-Old Fillies
        Handicap  Race 1; from "Pantani (NZ)", the winner of the Br. P. G. Nangle
        Super Vobis Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate  Race 2; from "Stoic Jester",
        winner of the Br. W. T. OMalley Handicap  Race 5, and from "Gateway
        Bid", the winner of the Br. J. L. Kelty Class 3 Handicap Race 7. Five horses were pre-race blood tested for post-race
        analysis. FINES/EXPLANATIONS: Mr. John Symons,
        trainer of "Joy of Flight", was fined $50 for having failed to notify a rider
        for the filly, which ran in the Matron Brady Super Vobis Two-Years-Old Fillies Handicap
         Race 1  in accordance with the Rules. Mr. Bill Mitchell, trainer of "Charnwood Song",
        was fined $50 for the late notification of K. McEvoy as the rider of the colt, which ran
        in the Peter Farley Maiden Plate  Race 3. Mr. Matthew Ellerton, trainer of "Starkat (NZ)"
        which ran in the Br. J. L. Kelty Class 3 Handicap  Race 7  was fined $30 for
        using wrong colours on the gelding.  |
