On arrival on course"Dolphin Peak" was examined
by the clubs veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run. "Tarpan" jumped away
awkwardly.
Race 2 - Crowders Mt Eliza Restricted Trophy Race
(2) Handicap 1200m
A Bodey, rider of "Edgbaston" which performed
poorly stated to the stewards that after passing the 600m, the gelding did not feel right
in its action and rounding the home turn, "Edgbaston" hung out. A post race
veterinary examination of "Edgbaston" failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 3 - Tailor Made Gaming Promotions Open Trophy
Race 1200m
M Tabone, rider of "Mrs Hollywood" which
performed poorly stated to the stewards that the mare travelled well in the early stages
of the race, but was a beaten horse from the 600m, and in his opinion "Mrs
Hollywood" did not appreciate the track conditions today. A post race veterinary
examination of "Mrs Hollywood" failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 4 - Steeples Tabaret Restricted Trophy Race
(1) Handicap 2000m
On jumping away "Secrete" bounded in the air.
Passing the 400m "Secrete" had to be eased off the heels of "Silver
Tarri(NZ)". Rounding the home turn "Winston Halo" was held up for a run for
a short distance. In the straight "Charmandene" shifted in under pressure.
Race 5 - Redwood Prints Open Trophy Race 2000m
J Wenn, rider of "Marrvan" which performed poorly
stated to the stewards that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages of
the race, but failed to respond to his riding over the concluding stages. In his opinion,
"Marrvan" would be better suited over a shorter distance. A post race veterinary
examination of "Marrvan" failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 6 - Ian Crowder Memorial Open Trophy Race
1600m
Approaching the 600m, "Jester Horse" had to be
checked when tightened for room by "Ningbo Warrior (USA)" (G Harrison) which
shifted in under pressure. Approaching the 500m, "Jester Horse" was hampered
when tightened for room by "Ningbo Warrior (USA)" which shifted in slightly. G
Harrison was severely reprimanded and notified when in similar circumstances he must take
far greater care when shifting ground in future. In the straight "Ningbo Warrior
(USA)" layed in under pressure.
