to lay in, shifted in and became unbalanced on the heels of FATIGUED (J. Potter). Inside the 200 metres DUA AWALI (B. Claridge), which got
its head up and inclined to race greenly, was reluctant to take a run, which had presented
itself. S. Price, rider of ITS RAINING MARES, accidentally
dropped his whip on entering the straight. S. Price was advised that future carelessness
may result in penalty. Over the concluding stages DEBBEN (J. Holder), which was

metres Mr. D. Halliday, Trainer of IRISH BLESSING,

behaviour may lead to action being taken against it. HAWK EYE (NZ) (P. Gatt) and MOONFLEET MAGIC
        (C. Lindop) were slow to jump. P. Gatt, rider of HAWK EYE, explained that
after being slow to jump his mount took some distance to get into stride and had never
travelled well, or felt comfortable in the going. He stated that he placed HAWK EYE under
pressure after entering the straight, however felt that the gelding had not responded to
that pressure. HAWK EYE was examined by the Clubs Veterinary Surgeon who reported no
visible abnormalities. Near the 200 metres IRISH BLESSING (J.
Potter) shifted in under riding and hampered ETERNAL SONG (N. Tomizawa). Inside the 100 metres DRARGIS BID (J.
Bowditch) was held up when taken in by IRISH BLESSING (J. Potter). J. Potter was advised
that in future he would be required to take greater care when shifting ground. Correct Weight was delayed to allow J.
Holder, rider of MERITS, to view the official footage in the straight. After doing so J.
Holder declined the option of lodging an objection and Correct Weight was declared. Subsequent to the race ETERNAL SONG was
examined by the Clubs Veterinary Surgeon, who reported no visible abnormalities. RACE 4: YALUMBA SPRINT 1263
        metres DIDNEDA (Darren Holland) was
inclined to lay out throughout the event and shift away from other runners. Darren Holland
explained, that despite his efforts, DIDNEDA refused to race with the body of the field.
DIDNEDA was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon subsequent to the race, who reported no
visible abnormalities. Mr. D. Pannell, representing Trainer Mr. J. R. Hawkes, was advised
that if the gelding could not be more tractable in future, action would be taken against
it. KING KEEPERS (D. Carney) got its head up

ruled fit to start. The start of the race was delayed owing to
BY INVITATION ONLY, rearing in the gates and becoming cast, dislodging P. Gatt. In
response WINNING SPIRIT, which was in an adjoining stall, broke through the gates
riderless. When being extricated BY INVITATION ONLY escaped the Attendants and WINNING
SPIRIT completed a circuit of the course. Upon being recaptured both horses were ruled
unfit to start and withdrawn at 3.18 p.m. Mr. T. Dabernig, representing Mr. T. McEvoy,
Trainer of BY INVITATION ONLY, was advised that a repetition of the fillys behaviour
may lead to action being taken against it. Stewards ruled that all monies invested on
WINNING SPIRIT and BY INVITATION ONLY be refunded. Bets made on other runners prior to the

lead to action being taken against it. Near the 1000 metres DOUBLE TRAP (J.
Bowditch) shifted in onto OIL CAN ANNIE (Darren Holland), taking that mare in onto FLEET
DAPPER (C. Lindop), which was tightened onto GOD HELP ME (J. Holder), which had commenced
to race ungenerously, while being restrained. As a result, GOD HELP ME was obliged to
steady and lose its position. J. Bowditch was severely reprimanded for shifting in when
insufficiently clear, and advised to in future to give riders on his inside the room to
which they are entitled. Subsequent to the race PRETTY EDGY was

ANGUISH (T. Creek) lost its position when tightened by PARK CITY (S. Price), which rolled
out, at the same time as CHEVVY (Darren Holland) rolled in. When questioned regarding the apparent
disappointing performance of BLUE BOWS, D. Cleaver explained that the filly had not begun
as well as it normally does and had to be niggled to show speed in the early stages. He
stated that in his opinion his mount had raced like a tired horse. Mrs. B. Perry, Trainer
of BLUE BOWS, confirmed the filly would now be spelled. BLUE BOWS was examined by the
