 Race 1 - PARKERS NORTH
& SOUTH SUPER VOBIS HANDICAP 1000m On arrival at the course, West Of The Bridge was examined
by the Club Veterinary Surgeon who passed the filly fit to run. The start of the race was
slightly delayed due to the second ambulance arriving late on course. On jumping away,
Lady Sophia, which was slightly slow to begin, was then hampered when tightened for room
by Comedy of Dreams, which initially shifted in and Porto Venere, which then shifted out.
        L. Meech, rider of Comedy of Dreams explained to the Stewards that approaching the 400
metres, she felt that the gelding had slipped behind and then faulted in its action when
trying to correct itself and from this point on, she eased the gelding down as she felt
there may be something a-miss with Comedy of Dreams. Subsequent to the race, the Club
Veterinary Surgeon examined the gelding and reported no apparent abnormality. P. Young,
rider of West of the Bridge, which performed below expectations explained to the Stewards
that the filly raced ungenerously throughout the race and failed to respond to his riding
during the race. Subsequent to the race, a Veterinary Examination of West of the Bridge
revealed the filly was showing signs of shin-soreness. Race 2 - GEELONG BARKING DOG WINE BAR SV
THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1100m On arrival at the course the Club Veterinary Surgeon
examined Payjax and passed the gelding fit to run. Acting on the report from the Starter
regarding the unruly behaviour of Mufassa whilst behind the barrier, and after taking
evidence from Mr. G. Thornton, Trainer of the gelding, E. Cassar, Rider and Mr. L. Sheedy,
Starter of the race and P. Doherty, Assistant Starterand after taking into account all the
circumstances, Stewards notified Mr. G. Thornton that a warning would be issued against
the gelding for being unruly behind the barriers. As a result of Mufaasa's actions the
start of the race was delayed. On jumping away, Miss Master Key began awkwardly. Shortly
after the start, Malakhov was hampered when tightened for room by Navaisha which shifted
in. Near the 800 metres, Rockfleet shifted out and hampered Miss Master Key. At the
entrance to the straight Casual Prince which was racing tight between Heroic Fraar and My
Pajinka, then had to be checked when tightened for room by Heroic Fraar (L. Meech), which
shifted out and My Pajinka, which shifted in slightly. L. Meech was severely reprimanded
and notified that she must ensure she is clear of other runners when shifting ground in
future. Race 3 - RUTTERS RACE PHOTOGRAPHY FILLIES &

Yonder. When asked for an explanation for the improved performance of Rory's Thought,
compared to its recent runs. Mr. P. Brazil, Trainer of the mare, stated that Rory's
Thought had been working well prior to today and he also contributed  the improvement
to the change of rider today, as she rides the mare in all of its work and understands its
idiosyncrasies based on this Mr. Brazil further added that he modestly supported the mare
today.   Race 4 - GEELONG BARWON CLUB HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE
1600m De Lago Bay and Mad Cafe were slow to begin. Near the 700
metres, My Boy Kenny shifted in slightly towards the rail, became unbalanced and lost some
ground. Near the 400 metres, De Lago Bay had to be eased off the heels of The Forum (NZ),
due to Royalty Voyage taking that gelding  in slightly when improving. Near the 200
metres, Brace Yourself (NZ) had some difficulty obtaining a clear run. C. Payne rider of
The Forum (NZ), which performed below expectations, explained to Stewards, that the
gelding displayed a tendency to hang-in in the early stages and from the 700 metes, failed
to respond to her riding.   Race 5 - UNION CLUB HOTEL COLAC FILLIES AND MARES

mare was suspended from racing until it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards in a
organised trial and at such time is issued with a Barrier Certificate. Acting on a report
from the Starter regarding the unruly behaviour whilst behind the Barrier by Dame Jessie
Bambra, Stewards notified Mr. M. Carson, Trainer of the mare that an official warning
would be placed against Dame Jessie Bambra, and if it performs in a similar manner in
future, further action may be taken. Mr. Carson was further notified that prior to Dame
Jessie Bambra starting again, he must be in receipt of a Barrier Certificate. As a result
of Carnival Magic and Dame Jessie Bambra's actions, the start of the race was considerably
delayed. Rounding the home-turn, Deux Mille had to be checked when it improved up onto the
heels of Jamaica Win.   Race 6 - CARLTON DRAUGHT COLAC GOLD CUP 2000m

Veterinary Certificate in respect of the filly. When the gates opened, Northern Field
knuckled and lost ground. In the early and middle stages of the race, Exclusive Godthree
(NZ) got its head up and raced ungenerously. M. Allen, rider of Snow Squall, which
performed below expectations, explained to the Stewards, that the mare, which was racing
with blinkers off today, did not show early pace today and as a result, was caught wide
throughout the race. Allen further stated that the mare had a tendency to lay-in during
the race and on pulling up, had felt awkward in its action. A Veterinary Examination
subsequent to the race revealed no apparent abnormality. Race 8 - ARUNDELL, MURRAY & RYAN CLASS 4
HANDICAP  1000m Acting on a report from the Starter, regarding the unruly

the gelding, that an official warning will be placed against the gelding and that prior to
starting again, he must be in receipt of a Barrier Certificate. As a result of Desert
Bomber's actions, the start of the race was delayed. S. Vella rider of Bay of Silk
explained to the Stewards, that after suffering some interference at the start, he elected
to try and settle the filly as per his instructions, but as he attempted to improve
shortly after, the filly failed to respond to his riding. Vella further stated that in his
opinion, the filly was not comfortable running up and down the hill from the 800 metres.
And after balancing up again in the straight, ran home well. When asked for an explanation
for the improved performance of My Kirana, Mr. J. Mohr, Trainer of the mare explained to
Stewards that My Kirana races best when able to lead, and at its previous run was unable
to do so, after suffering interference at the start. Mr. Mohr further stated that the mare
had worked well this week and he was confident of an improved run today, providing the
mare could lead as in his opinion My Kirana displays a far better attitude towards racing
when leading or right on the pace Stewards accepted the explanation tended by Mr. Mohr. On
jumping away Bay Of Silk was hampered when tightened for room between Desert Bomber and
Phin De Vie, due to both those horses shifting ground.Passing the 800 metres, Kirabati
(NZ) knuckled. Near the 100 metres, Kirabati (NZ)1 (N. Wilson) which was hanging in under
pressure shifted in when not clear of Desert Bomber, resulting in that gelding having to
be checked.Whilst accepting that Kirabati (NZ) was hanging, Stewards reprimanded N. Wilson
and notified him that they would expect him to straighten his mounts far sooner when in
similar circumstances.   Race 9 - BRIAN RUSSELL MENSLAND CLASS 1 HANDICAP

repetition of this behaviour may result in further action . As a result of Wee Swelter's
actions, the start of the race was delayed. Turning out of the straight for the first
time, Spectacular Storm got its head up when being restrained off the heels of Wee Swelter
        (L. Meech) who shifted in when not sufficiently clear. L. Meech will be notified that she
