Race 1 - COMMERCIAL HOTEL 4YO & UP MAIDEN PLATE

Dual Rajah was slow to begin. On jumping away North Road knuckled. Throughout the race and until the Winning Post, Only Orbison hung out and proved difficult to ride. Subsequent to the race, the Club Veterinary Surgeon examined both Dual Rajah and Only Orbison and reported that he could find no apparent abnormality with the geldings.

Race 2 - COUNTRY ROAD FARM SUPPLIES MAIDEN PLATE

During the running of the race, Calling O'Rielly (NZ) lost its off-fore plate. Murilla Gorilla was slow to begin and lost ground. Also Le Coup and Junior Grey were slow to begin. Que Breaker lost its footing behind and as a result, was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, Jessieo was hampered when tightened for room between Taitwig and Junior Grey, which shifted out slightly. Approaching the home-turn, Wynfred raced greenly and, rounding the home-turn, Almighty Zena threw its head in the air and raced ungenerously, when racing between Beach Day and Calling O'Reilly (NZ). Also at this stage, Bora (N. Wilson) laid out. N. Wilson, rider of the mare stated that Bora showed early pace but commenced to lay-out rounding the home-turn, and when weakening, was awkward in its action, and in his opinion, showed signs of shin-soreness. Subsequent to the race, the Club Vet reported that Bora showed no apparent abnormality. From the 200 metres to the Winning Post, Taitwig had a tendency to lay-in when under pressure.

Turning out of the straight for the first time, Brush With Fame (NZ) had to be checked when tightened for room between Ti Tree Flyer and Tartan Affair, both of whom shifted ground. Subsequent to the race, the Club Vet recorded no apparent abnormality with Gratisam, which had performed poorly.
