RACE ONE 3YO CLASS 3 HCP – 12OO M

En route to the start CENTRE DANCER reared over backwards and dislodged it’s rider T Gillett and galloped for some distance. As T Gillett was unable to ride, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of CENTRE DANCER at 11.56am. Subsequent to the event stewards ordered all monies wagered on CENTRE DANCER to be refunded and the following betting deductions. All monies wagered prior to the withdrawal of CENTRE DANCER to be paid as follows- For the win, face value of the ticket less 3 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 5 cents in the dollar.

Near the 250 metres J Hallam (a), rider of GAINSWAY GIRL dropped his whip.

1st SPIRIT ON FIRE. 2nd EMMAAGH. 3rd COPPER’S EDGE.

RACE TWO LIGHTNING PLATE – 1OOO M

On return to scale D Bates, rider of the second placegetter MASINDOR lodged an objection against SUMMERSET COUNTY being declared the winner alleging interference near the 700 metres and the 600 metres. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the video of the race, stewards upheld the objection, the amended placings being-

As G Duffy was to be overweight Stewards permitted D Bates to replace him as the rider of MASINDOR.

D Coffey was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137(a)), the careless riding being that near the 700 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of MASINDOR which resulted in MASINDOR having to be checked. D Coffey was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Wednesday 5th September and was fined the sum of $500

D Coffey was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137(a)) the careless riding being that near the 600 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of RAZAMATAZ which resulted in RAZAMATAZ having to be checked. D Coffey was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Wednesday 5th September.

After passing the 600 metres and after being checked RAZAMATAZ shifted out, taking MASINDOR outwards.

1st MASINDOR. 2nd SUMMERSET COUNTY. 3rd SONIC SWITCH.

RACE THREE CLASS 1 HCP – 19OO M

As T Gillett was indisposed Stewards permitted the following rider changes:-
Race 3 GOLD BATTLER A Groves
Race 6 ASSIFF H Bowman
Race 8 DRAMATIST A Groves

As S Simon was suspended from riding in races and therefore unable to fulfill his engagements today, the following rider changes were permitted prior to 9.00am today;

Race 3 CLASSIC CHOICE - H Bowman
Race 4 CROWN COUNSEL - H Bowman
Race 7 PALOOKA - S Arnold

When the gates opened MIGHTY ATILLA bounded in the air.

Rounding the first turn CLASSIC CHOICE had a tendency to overrace.

The Club’s Veterinary Surgeon inspected PRISMS and reported that the gelding pulled up in a distressed state.

1st INFLUENT. 2nd GONG NAPAR. 3rd LOCKMASTER.

RACE FOUR CLASS 2 HCP – 11OO M

Near the 900 metres STEAMING was tightened for room by CROWN COUNSEL (H Bowman) which shifted in. The interference was accentuated by STEAMING which had a tendency to get in away from CROWN COUNSEL. H Bowman was notified that in future he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground.

Rounding the 600 metre turn STEAMING had a tendency to hang out.

Near the 500 metres BOWEN SPECIAL was tightened for room and had to be eased between CROWN COUNSEL and CRACK THE WHIP which rolled out.

On the home turn STEAMING was tightened for room by BOWEN SPECIAL which shifted in away from BE STRONG.

1st BAYMONDE. 2nd CROWN COUNSEL. 3rd SWAMP THING.

RACE FIVE CLASS 3 HCP – 13OO M

No report

1st OL’BLUE EYES. 2nd JEREMIAH BULLFROG. 3rd HIGHER POWER.

RACE SIX CLASS 4 HCP – 11OO M

On jumping away ASSIFF was tightened for room between ARAGORN which shifted out and BESHARRI which after jumping away awkwardly shifted in. Shortly after this COPPERPLATE shifted in and tightened BESHARRI which became unbalanced and knuckled.

Near the 1000 metres ARAGORN was taken out onto ASSIFF by BENGAL FLASH which shifted out. As a result ARAGORN was buffeted between those two runners.

In the straight ASSIFF had a tendency to lay in and as a result hampered KALASHOW near the 300 metres and BROTHER’S VENTURE near the 100 metres.

1st RING CYCLE. 2nd GOTHAM RULER. 3rd BENGAL FLASH.

RACE SEVEN SPEC COND HCP – 13OO M

On return to scale S Arnold, rider of the second placegetter PALOOKA lodged an objection against SON OF GRACE being declared the winner alleging interference over the last 200 metres. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the video of the race, stewards dismissed the objection and correct weight was declared.

S Burrows, rider of EIRE JESTER reported that the gelding had struck its head in the barriers prior to jumping away.

When the gates opened ZILLIONAIRE reared in the air and lost ground and TERRITORY EDITION was slow into stride.

Subsequent to the event the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon inspected HALIFAX and reported that he could find no apparent abnormality.

1st SON OF GRACE. 2nd PALOOKA. 3rd HEART’S TREASURE.

RACE EIGHT CLASS 6 HCP – 16OO M

Near the 1500 metres BRAND NEW was tightened for room and had to be checked between PROUD HARVEST, which had a tendency to lay in, and CATHALOOK which shifted out slightly.

Near the 1000 metres ROCKHOUND had to be eased off the heels of ALDILAR which rolled in.

From the 700 metres to the 400 metres BRAND NEW was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.

Near the 200 metres CATHALOOK was tightened for room slightly by ROCKHOUND which was weakening.

ALDILAR suffered an attack of bleeding during the race.

1st BRAND NEW. 2nd DRAMATIST. 3rd GIRA.

RACE NINE DARWIN CUP – 2OOO M

On jumping away DREAMGAZER got its head in the air, shifted out and bumped PRINCE DUBAI.

Rounding the first turn NONE FOR THE ROAD began to overrace and had to be eased off the heels of STAR BULLET, in so doing shifted out and bumped HEAVEN DANCER.

In the early and middle stages of the race DREAMMGAZER had a tendency to throw it’s head up when being restrained.

1st MCJOEY. 2nd HEAVEN DANCER. 3rd PRINCE DUBAI.

All winners and the second placegetter in race 9 were swabbed today.
