RACE THREE CLASS D HCP – 11OO M

MR SOUL was a late scratching due to its refusal to travel to the barriers.

At the start MR ILLUMINATOR jumped outwards and DELIRIUM got away awkwardly. NICE WAYS, which was having it’s first race start, raced greenly for most of the way. DELIRIUM laid in on the run down the straight.

Mr D Leech trainer of NICE WAYS was fined $30 for presenting that gelding with blinkers when it is not approved to race in that gear (AR140(a)).

M Boothby, trainer of MR SOUL was advised that should the gelding give a repeat performance at its next start, Stewards would need to consider future nominations.

Subsequent to the event stewards ordered all monies wagered on MR SOUL to be refunded and the following betting deductions. All monies wagered prior to the withdrawal of MR SOUL to be paid as follows- For the win, face value of the ticket less 16 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 18 cents in the dollar.

1st YESSTILLA 2nd MR. ILLUMINATOR 3rd DELIRIUM

RACE SEVEN CLASS 3 HCP – 13OO M

As D Bates was indisposed Stewards permitted S Brownbill (a) to replace him as the rider of COMMAND LINE. D Bates was advised that a medical certificate would need to be supplied before he rides again.

RACE EIGHT CLASS 6 HCP – 1OOO M

As D Bates was indisposed Stewards permitted S Brownbill (a) to replace him as the rider of SILENT MAJORITY.

COPPERPLATE and EMBRACES bumped shortly after the start.

Near the 700metres PEERAGE (L Schmidt), had to be eased. An inquiry was held into this incident with the rider of COPPERPLATE (T Perry), EMBRACES (P Denton), SILENT MAJORITY (S Brownbill (a)) and L Schmidt giving evidence. The Stewards believed the riders involved had made an effort to keep their mounts under control and no further action was taken.

RACE NINE OPEN HCP – 12OO M

As D Bates was indisposed Stewards permitted S Brown to replace him as the rider of PIM.

S Brownbill (a) reported that when the gates opened the saddle on CITYKAT slipped backwards which may have caused that gelding to pigroot during the first 100 metres. He could offer no explanation as to why the gelding compounded so quickly. A subsequent Veterinary examination revealed a much higher than normal pulse rate.

1st TORDEAN 2nd PIM 3rd KLARSYNT

Trainer J Robinson was fined $50 for failing to supply stable returns for horses entering and leaving her stable (NT56). She was given 48 hours to correct her omission.
