         11OO M When the gates opened AUTOUR DU MONDE was
        slow to begin. The start of this race was rescheduled until 2.05pm, as there was a delay
        of NT Race one (Alice Springs) being run.  1st JIMS SHOUT 2nd AUTOUR DU
        MONDE 3rd GOLD BOSS RACE FOUR MAIDEN HCP  12OO M Near the 1000 metres CLASSIC CHOICE
        overaced behind TALGO and had to be eased. Near the 400 metres HOKAIDO had to be eased off
        the heels of TALGO (J Hallam (a)), which shifted in. J Hallam (a) was severely reprimanded
        and notified that in similar circumstances in future he must ensure he is two lengths
        clear prior to shifting ground. 1st COMBER NATION 2nd JULIGHT 3rd
        HOKAIDO RACE SIX CLASS 4 HCP  12OO M In the straight FINE OPTION had a tendency
        to lay in, which necessitated D Bates the geldings rider to stop riding and
        straighten his mount on a number of occasions. Prior to the event STORM CONTROL, which had
        played up in the float on route to the course was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon
        and passed fit to run. 1st FINE OPTION 2nd BEAU MASTER 3rd
        STORM CONTROL RACE EIGHT OPEN HCP  13OO M Near the 200 metres PIM and MAGIC WEASEL
        raced tight for some distance and brushed on a number of occasions. 1st PIM 2nd IMPOSING KEN 3rd KALASHOW RACE TEN CLASS 1 HCP  15OO M When the gates opened PERFECT PEACE was
        slow to begin. Near the 400 metres CONTRARIAN was tightened for room by DRAGON STAR, which
        was taken in by PERFECT PEACE. As a result DRAGON STAR and CONTRARIAN both became
        unbalanced. G Clarke trainer of LOCHTON LASS was fined $30.00 as the mare was presented
        without its approved gear (Pacifiers) (AR140A). 1st DELIRIUM 2nd WICKED LOVE 3rd
        LOCHTON LASS RACE TWELVE CLASS 5 HCP  16OO M Near the 1500 metres BRAND NEW had to be
        eased off the heels of COMMAND LINE, which shifted in slightly. M McDuff rider of BRAND
        NEW was found guilty of careless riding, the careless riding being that from approximately
        the 1100 metres to the 700metres. He failed to allow sufficient room on his inside and as
        a consequence LUST NO MORE and GROSVENOR LANE were forced to race unnecessarily tight.
        This resulted in LUST NO MORE being hampered for some considerable distance and LUST NO
        MORE and GROSVENOR LANE bumping on several occasions. Michael McDuff was suspended from
        riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on 13 April 2002 (2 meetings). Stewards
        questioned J Hallam (a) rider of beaten favourite LUST NO MORE. J Hallam (a) stated that
        he raced on heels for the entire back straight, which the gelding did not appreciate,
        however in the straight LUST NO MORE did not run on as it has in recent starts. Near the
        500 metres BRAND NEW shifted out as it was weakening and bumped KEW out onto PEERAGE.
        Stewards were unable to have BRAND NEW, which had performed poorly inspected by the clubs
        veterinary surgeon as the gelding had left the saddling paddock prior to the veterinary
        surgeon examining it. Mr D Leech trainer of BRAND NEW was fined $100.00 for removing the
        gelding from the saddling paddock prior to the required time (AR117(3)).  1st COMMAND LINE 2nd CHALIUM 3rd
        LUST NO MORE LUST NO MORE, BRAND NEW and PEERAGE were
        pre race blood tested today. The winners of race 1,2,3,5 and 6 were swabbed today. Trainer S Brown was fined $50.00 for having
        a dog in the stabling area on the morning of 15 March, which was not restrained as per the
        committee policy. |
