Ms J Robinson, trainer of ADIAN WAY was questioned after the stewards had requested that the club’s veterinary surgeon inspect ADIAN WAY when blood was seen in it’s nostril prior to leaving the mounting yard. When the clubs veterinary surgeon attempted to inspect the gelding some 5 minutes after the finish of the race he reported that the gelding had left the saddling enclosure. Mrs Robinson stated that she was upset by the events which occurred during the race and after leaving the mounting yard took ADIAN WAY straight back to the training stables. Mrs Robinson acknowledged that the gelding did show signs of blood in one nostril. Mrs Robinson was found guilty of a charge under AR117 (3) with having removed ADIAN WAY from the saddling enclosure contrary to that rule. Mrs Robinson was fined the sum of $500. Mrs Robinson was further notified that prior to ADIAN WAY again racing it must perform to the satisfaction of stewards in an official barrier trial over at least 1000 meteres.
