 RACE ONE CLASS C HCP
12OO M When the gates opened TALGO jumped awkwardly and lost
ground. Rounding the turn YESSTILLA had a tendancy to lay out. Approaching the winning post SOLTRICE rolled in. Mr G Lazare, trainer of ALKOOMI (NZ) was fined $50 for
nominating that mare for this race when ineligible (AR 64). 1st SOLTRICE 2nd WICKED LOVE 3rd
YESSTILLA RACE TWO CLASS 1 HCP 11OO M As GOLDEN SUPREMACY was lame in the off
foreleg and unfit to start, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GOLDEN SUPREMACY at 1.53pm. As M Osmond was ill and unable to ride,
Stewards permitted S Simon to replace him as the rider of ALKOOMI (NZ). Near the 600 metres CHECK OR BET, which was
improving, was taken out by ADIAN WAY which hung out on the corner. As a result CHECK OR
BET had to be checked and was taken out and bumped ALKOOMI (NZ) on the hindquarters. This
turned ALKOOMI (NZ) inwards and hampered that mare severely. S Simon, rider of ALMOOMI (NZ) was found
guilty of a charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that after passing the
1000 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of CHECK OR BET
which resulted in CHECK OR BET having to be checked. S Simon was suspended from riding in
races for a period to expire at midnight on Saturday 8th December, 2001. 1st GOLD JAY 2nd CHECK OR BET 3rd
CONTRARIAN RACE THREE CLASS 5 HCP 11OO M Stewards questioned S Brownbill (a), rider
of COMMAND LINE about that geldings performance in the middle stages of the race. S
Brownbill (a) stated that the gelding raced ungenerously and appeared to resent the sand
being thrown up. However in the straight when he got out from behind other runners the
gelding ran home well. 1st JIMS SHOUT 2nd
COPPERPLATE 3rd GOLD BOSS RACE FOUR CLASS 3 HCP 13OO M On jumping away NATURES HIDEAWAY and
KEW were tightened from room between SILENT MAJORITY and WOODWARD, both of which shifted.
As a result KEW was bumped on the hindquarters and lost ground. On the home turn NATURES HIDEAWAY
layed out and made contact with the hindquarters of CHARLIE. 1st KEW 2nd NORTHERN CAT 3rd
SILENT MAJORITY RACE FIVE OPEN HCP 13OO M Stewards adjourned until a date to be
