 RACE ONE CLASS 2 HCP  13OO M When the gates opened PLUTO, which had been
        restless in the barriers jumped away awkwardly and lost ground Rounding the turn PLUTO was held up for a
        run behind INAPPROPRIATE and had a tendency to shift out. In the straight PLUTO was reluctant to take
        a tight run between JAZMACASE and ARE EL. D Bates, rider of INAPPROPRIATE notified
        the stewards that the gelding hung out for the majority of the race and for this reason he
        was unable to ride it out to the best of his ability over the concluding stages. M McDuff, rider of PLUTO was found guilty
        of a charge under AR118A in that after he had weighed out to ride PLUTO he changed his
        riding boots to a set which was heavier. M McDuff was fined the sum of $200. 1st JAZMACASE. 2nd PLUTO. 3rd
        INAPPROPRIATE. RACE TWO CLASS C HCP  12OO M On jumping away BALKAN and SWAMP THING came
        together. The Clubs Veterinary Surgeon reported that
        BALKAN had blood in its off side nostril. Mr A Trengrove, trainer of GOLDEN SUPREMACY
        was fined $50 for nominating that gelding for this event when ineligible. 1st STORM CONTROL. 2nd SWAMP
        THING. 3rd MAJESTIC ANNIE. RACE THREE OPEN HCP  12OO M After jumping away STARFIRE GEM was slow
        into stride and lost ground. T Walsh, rider of BEYOND FEAR, which
        performed below expectations, stated that he believed the race was too short for the
        gelding today and in the straight BEYOND FEAR had a tendency to lay in. The Clubs
        Veterinary surgeon inspected BEYOND FEAR subsequent to the event and reported that he
        could find no apparent abnormality. Mr S Brown, trainer of BUTKUS and STARFIRE
        GEM was fined a total of $60 as those two horses were presented with blinkers which
        neither is approved to race in. 1st RADICAL MOVER 2nd BUTKUS 3rd
        DR. HARRY RACE FOUR CLASS D HCP  15OO M Near the 600 metres, MONSOONS, which was
        overracing, had to be eased off the heels of EIRE SUPPLY. At the entrance to the straight LITTLE PRO
        was accidentally struck on the head with the whip by M Mc Duff, rider of SIR OSCAR. Approaching the winning post LITTLE PRO was
        accidentally struck on the head with the whip by G Clarke, rider of EIRE SUPPLY. As there were no riders available CLASSIC
        CHOICE and SHES NO DANE were withdrawn by the stewards at 1.35pm. 1st ADIAN WAY. 2nd EIRE
        SUPPLY. 3rd LITTLE PRO. RACE FIVE CLASS 5 HCP  11OO M Shortly after the start SPORTS GAIT and
        MULBERRY bumped, MULBERRY then shifted out and bumped JOGGING. Stewards questioned P Denton, the rider of
        RING CYCLE, which performed below expectations. P Denton stated that the gelding did not
        appreciate the sand being thrown up when he was in behind other runners, but other than
        that could offer no explanation for the geldings performance. The Clubs Veterinary
        Surgeon inspected RING CYCLE and reported that the gelding may have inhaled sand and on
        inspection was coughing. There were no other apparent abnormalities. D Bates, rider of BROTHERS VENTURE
        stated that the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action in the middle and
        closing stages of the race. The Clubs Veterinary Surgeon inspected BROTHERS
        VENTURE and reported that he could find no apparent abnormalities. As there were no riders available stewards
        ordered the withdrawal of AUTOUR DU MONDE at 1.35pm 1st ORIENTAL TREASURE. 2nd
        KALASHOW. 3rd JOGGING. All winners were swabbed today |
