         1OOO M Approaching the winning post ARCH HENRY was
        taken out by CHEQUE ATTACK and STREWTH. LORD ERSKINE which was weakening had to be eased
        off ARCH HENRYs heels. 1st MICKEYMOO 2nd GRAND JUDGE 3rd
        STREWTH RACE TWO CLASS 4 HCP  13OO M Apprentice J Hallam, rider of A ESS EYE,
        was unable to ride that gelding at his MRW. As there were no other apprentice riders
        available and as the trainer Mr S Brown was prepared to allow him to not claim his full
        allowance, stewards permitted J Hallam to fulfill his engagement on A ESS EYE. J Hallam
        was fined $100 for failing to ride at his declared MRW. When the gates opened RODIN was slow to
        begin. J Hallam was charged under AR 175(a) with
        an improper action. The improper action being that when he attempted to weigh out to ride
        A ESS EYE that he placed his leg against the scales thereby affecting the reading on the
        scales. J Hallam was found guilty of the charge and his permit to ride in races was
        suspended for a period of three months. 1st OLD SWAMPY 2nd SOLARIO 3rd
        DAVES CHANCE RACE THREE CLASS 5 HCP  11OO M On jumping away BOBS COUNTY and SKYE
        KAYJOY came together. Rounding the first turn LUST NO MORE
        shifted out and bumped SKYE KAYJOY, which turned that mares hindquarters out. 1st SKIING 2nd LUST NO MORE 3rd
        BOBS COUNTY RACE FOUR SPECIAL CONDITIONS HCP  1OOO M On return to scale P Denton, rider of the
        fourth placegetter PRINCE OF SPORTS lodged an objection against ASPEN STAR being declared
        third place alleging interference near the 250 metres. After taking evidence from the
        parties concerned and viewing the video of the race, stewards upheld the objection, the
        amended placings being-3rd PRINCE OF SPORTS
 4th ASPEN STAR
 On return to scale C Lever, rider of
        JIMS SHOUT stated that he believed his mount was denied a fair start due to the
        front gate on its barrier swinging back after opening and hitting the gelding in the
        head. After viewing the video of the start, stewards deemed that JIMS SHOUT had not
        been denied a fair start. Rounding the turn MASINDOR was inclined to
        lay out. Near the 250 metres ASPEN STAR (S Brownbill
        (a)) rolled in under pressure and tightened PRINCE OF SPORTS. S Brownbill(a) was severely
        reprimanded and notified that in future he must stop riding and straighten his mount
        sooner than he did on this occasion. Stewards questioned D Bates, rider of
        RADICAL MOVER about that geldings performance. D Bates stated that he was a little
        disappointed himself but he believed that RADICAL NOVER is struggling under the weight
        allocated against this class of horse over the shorter distances. A pre race swab sample was taken from ASPEN
        STAR. 1st MASINDOR 2nd ORIENTAL TREASURE
        3rd ASPEN STAR RACE FIVE CLASS 1 HCP  12OO M When the gates opened COMPASS BOY bounded
        in the air and lost ground. After passing the 1100 metres STRATEGIC
        FEELING (B Cornell) shifted in and tightened ANELLO ROSSO. B Cornell was severely
        reprimanded and notified that he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting
        ground in future. Subsequent to the event Mr S Paynter,
        trainer of BELIEVE IN VICTORY reported that the gelding had been struck on the eye and had
        swelling around its eye. 1st LA MEXA 2nd POLAR BEAR 3rd ANELLO
        ROSSO RACE SIX SPECIAL CONDITIONS HCP  13OO M As the gates opened GALLIC CHIEF reared and
        lost considerable ground and THE BIG FELLA knuckled. P Denton, rider of TERRITORY EDITION stated
        that the gelding raced well back in the early stages of the race and failed to run on at
        any stage. 1st THE BIG FELLA 2nd KUERTEN 3rd
        GALLIC CHIEF RACE SEVEN BUNTINE HCP  19OO M Stewards questioned D Bates, rider of PIM
        which weakened badly over the concluding stages. D Bates stated that the gelding weakened
        badly and pulled up distressed. He further stated that the gelding would be going for a
        spell after today. OAKFIELD PRINCE was inclined to overrace
        during the first 500 metres of the race. Near the 200 metres STAR BULLET had to be
        eased when tightened for room between OAKFIELD PRINCE which rolled out and BOZEMAN which
        also had to be eased when taken in by PRINCE DUBAI (B Sweeney). B Sweeney will be
        reprimanded for shifting in when not sufficiently clear. 1st BRAVE DECISION 2nd PRINCE
        DUBAI 3rd INDIAN RIDGE All winners were swabbed today Pre race swab samples were taken from BRAVE
        DECISION, PRINCE DUBAI and INDIAN RIDGE. Licensed stablehand M Sweeney was fined
        $200 for using whilst riding trackwork, a body protector which did not conform to the
        standards as prescribed and which had been modified (AR87b, AR87d). |
