RACE TWO CLASS D HCP – 11OO M

Stewards permitted M Osmond to replace M McDuff as the rider of SHODIYM. Furthermore the stewards permitted M Osmond to ride at 1.5kg overweight. The stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reason why M McDuff failed to carry out his engagements at today’s racemeeting.

SHODIYM sat back in the barriers at the start. M Osmond stated that SHODIYM raced greenly in the back straight but settled in the run home.

Stewards reprimanded P Denton, rider of WICKED LOVE for failing to ride that mare out to the end of the race (AR137(b)).

RACE FOUR CLASS 1 HCP – 13OO M

At the start REGENCY OF MARAIS bounded in the air nearly dislodging his rider D Bates. D Bates stated that REGENCY OF MARIAS seemed to jump forward at the sound of the starters voice.

RACE SIX CLASS 5 HCP – 12OO M

At the start COPPERPLATE was slow away and JIM’S SHOUT jumped outwards.

J Hallam (a), rider of BRONZE CHEIRON advised stewards that his horse did not appreciate dirt coming back into his face and so he kept BRONZE CHEIRON five wide for most of the race.

The Club’s veterinary surgeon reported COPPERPLATE was distressed for some time after the race for no apparent reason.

RACE EIGHT CLASS 3 HCP – 11OO M

On advice from the Club’s veterinary surgeon, stewards scratched BUCK’S LAD from the race at 1.25pm due to the gelding having swelling around the near fore knee, grazing on both eyes and the offside hip.

B Davis (a) appeared in the race book as the rider of CASPER’S COMMAND when G Browder was the rider of that horse.

At the start ZOFFOCLES jumped awkwardly taking GOLD BOSS out.
