         On jumping away Assumption shifted in and hampered
        Frangipani and Mavis. Mr Joe Cassar stable employee with Mr M Ellerton, who was
        representing Matthew Ellerton today, trainer of Alumni (10) & Frangipani (13) was
        found guilty of a charge of carelessness when saddling both those runners in that he
        placed 10 saddle cloth and that rider's saddle on horse 13 (Frangipani) and had placed 13
        saddle cloth and that rider's saddle on horse 10 (Alumni) which was detected by the
        Stewards in the parade ring before entering the mounting yard. Mr Cassar was fined the sum
        of $250. When accessing penalty, stewards took into account Mr. Cassar's excellent record
        in racing. This resulted in both riders of Alumni & Frangipani having to be
        re-weighed. As a result of this the start of the race was delayed.  Race 2 - Maiden Plate - 2100m  Acting on a report from the starter that Stealth Knight had
        reared up and become cast and on veterinary advice was unfit to run, the Stewards withdrew
        the gelding from the event at 1.11pm. Subsequently Stewards ordered all monies bet for a
        win and/or place and concession betting on Stealth Knight to be refunded. It was ordered
        that all successful bets on horses prior to the time of withdrawal of Stealth Knight are
        subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win
        Bets 19c; Place Bets 16c; Winning Concession Bets 18c; Doubles Bets 19c. All monies bet
        after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of the ticket. As a
        result the start of this race was delayed. Approaching the 800m Kwaitpa had to be eased
        off the heels of Shakota.  Race 3 - Class 2 Handicap - 1000m  On jumping away Turbulent Force was tightened for room
        between Full Speed Ahead and Sebago which both shifted ground. Approaching the winning
        post Able Kane was accidentally struck on the head by the whip of E. Marchant rider of
        Full Speed Ahead. Race 4 - Class 1 Handicap - 1400m  Cinderella Café was examined by the Clubs Veterinary
        Surgeon at the start and passed fit to run. Elegant Stroke was slow to begin. During the
        running of the race Scentoy suffered a bleeding attack. At the entrance to the straight
        Cinderella Café (J Patton) when attempting a run where there was insufficient room
        between Humpty Doo Harry and Mowgreen had to be checked off the heels of Humpty Doo Harry.
        J Patton was reprimanded and notified that he must ensure he has sufficient room when
        attempting runs in future. After passing the 1200m Laudine had to be checked when
        tightened for room by Scentoy who was in turn tightened for room by No Curfew which was
        taken in by Stimulate which initially shifted in slightly before being taken in by
        Mowgreen (M Pay) which shifted in. The interference was aggravated due to Stimulate when
        overracing slightly continuing to be brushed on the hindquarters by No Curfew. Approaching
        the first turn near the 900m Mowgreen got its head in the air and shifted out when being
        eased off the heels of Humpty Doo Harry.  Race 5 - 3YO Fillies Classic Class 6 Handicap -
        1200m  Racing into the turn at the 600m Vaindear shifted out and
        inconvenienced Galroof. Near the 200m Costa Grande and Fear The Storm bumped. Race 6 - 3YO Class 2 Handicap - 1600m  Bourke Street broke down near the 800m and was pulled up
        out of the event by its rider L. Currie. Cesium which was following was inconvenienced. At
        the entrance to the straight She's Archie (G.Murphy) shifted out and bumped Radiant Blast.
        G.Murphy will be notified to exercise more care in future. Race 7 - Class 4 Handicap - 1600m  Rounding the home turn Deux Mille hung out.  Race 8 - Maiden Plate - 1200m  After being placed in its starting stall Forest Creek
        reared up resulting in D. Yates the mare's rider injuring his leg. As D. Yates was unfit
        to ride and so as to not cause an unreasonable delay the Stewards withdrew Forest Creek
        from the event at 4.51pm. Subsequent to the event the Stewards ordered the following in
        relation to betting: All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on
        Forest Creek to be refunded. It was also ordered that all successful bets on horses prior
        to the time of withdrawal of Forest Creek are subject to the following deductions in the
        dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win Bets 3c; Place Bets 4c; Winning Concession
        Bets 3c; Doubles Bets 3c. All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to
        be paid at face value of the ticket. Prior to correct weight being declared D Taggart
        rider of Lochinvale equal 4th placegetter and C McDonald trainer of the gelding
        wished to view the Stewards patrol film in the straight with the view to lodging an
        objection. After viewing the film neither party wished to object. In the straight Go Get
        had a tendency to lay in.  SWAB SAMPLES - were taken from the following
        runners:-  Race One - Conscription, winner of the race. Race Three - Seek The Silk, winner of the race.
 Race Seven - Obergurgl, winner of the race.
 Race Eight - Irish Magnate, winner of the race.
 Urine samples were taken from the following riders: L.
        Robertson and M. Pumpa. Fines & Explanations:  The Stewards interviewed licensed Bookmaker Mr R. Killian
        in respect of being in possession of and using a mobile telephone on course. Stewards
        accepted the explanation from Mr Killian. However notified him that it is an offence under
        the Rules to be in possession and use any mobile phone on course and further notified him
        that it would be recorded to the Betting Services Office at Racing Victoria and should he
        re offend in future he may be penalised.  |
