Race 1 -2YO Handicap - 1100m

Approaching the 800m Uncle Speed shifted in and inconvenienced Lashed. Lashed was then hampered for some distance due to Uncle Speed hanging in. N. Rawiller rider of West Bound stated to the Stewards that he eased his mount down in the straight as he believed that there may have been something amiss with the colt. A veterinary examination subsequent to the race of West Bound revealed no abnormality.

Race 2 - Maiden Plate - 1600m

Near the 1400m Capitulation had to be eased off the heels of Henty (NZ). When being eased Capitulation clipped the heels of Henty (NZ) and almost dislodged Ms L Meech, rider of the mare. Noble Truth (NZ) was severely hampered in consequence. Approaching the 1300m Kaarla shifted in slightly away from Ruling Ranch and as a result Kaarla brushed the rail and became unbalanced for some distance and lost considerable ground.

Race 3 - Class 2 Handicap - 1600m

In the straight Hurricane Rose hung out under pressure.

Race 4 - 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate- 1200m

Buffalo Girl jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 600m Winargo shifted out and brushed the hindquarters Gold Scene. On the home turn Salierum shifted out to avoid the heels of Katie Lou and as a result inconvenienced Akwendi and Jaspa Zen (NZ).

Race 5 - Class 1 Handicap - 1200m

No report.

Race 6 - Cup - 1400m

Prior to correct weight E. Marchant rider of A Regal Dane 3rd placegetter viewed the Stewards patrol videos before deciding not to lodge an objection. Passing the 1200m Lake Villa was hampered when tightened for room between On The Snip and Paris Rock due to both horses shifting ground. Approaching the 100m Sir Kindle (NZ) (G. Eades) shifted out under pressure towards A Regal Dane. As a result A Regal Dane was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of G. Eades. G. Eades was notified that he must stop and straighten his mounts when shifting ground in future. Subsequent to the race the Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported that Goquillo was lame in the near foreleg.

Race 7 - Fillies & Mares Class 3 Handicap - 1400m

Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Mrs W. Chivell trainer of Check Our Beez who stated that the mare had injured its near shoulder whilst being loaded onto the float and was unfit to run, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Check Our Beez at 11.25am. Mrs Chivell will produce a veterinary certificate in respect of Check Our Beez. Rounding the home turn and in the straight American Graffiti had a tendency to lay out.

Race 8 - Class 4 Handicap - 2100m

No report.

Race 9 - 3YO C & G Maiden Plate - 1200m

Prior to correct weight E. Cassar rider of Manatrice 4th placegetter requested to view the Official photo for third. E. Cassar agreed with the Judge's placing. On jumping away Manatrice had to be checked when tightened for room between Strategic Feeling which shifted in slightly and Granton which shifted out. Approaching the 100m Le Moola which had a tendency to lay in was eased when tightened for room between Irish Knight and Wharparilla which shifted out.

Race Four - Akwendi, winner of the race.

Race Six - Sir Kindle, winner of the race.

Race Seven - Valentia, winner of the race.

Race Eight - Fillary, winner of the race.

Fines & Explanations:

Race Five - Mr. A. Coffey trainer of Inala Star in was fined $50 for his late notification of M. Pumpa as rider of the mare.

Race Eight - Mr D.K. Weir trainer of Athapascan Storm was fined $50 for his late notification of D. Larsson as rider of the gelding.
