RACE 1 - NSW RURAL FIRE SERVICE
MAIDEN HANDICAP Stewards interviewed B Pengelly relative to his failure to
fulfil his engagement on Studantrac. B Pengelly stated that he was not made aware by his manager
that he had the ride on Studantrac and therefore did not arrive on course on time.
Stewards notified B Pengelly that should a similar situation occur then action may be
taken against him and his manager. D Spriggs was substituted. Tambara was slow to begin and shortly after was
steadied from the heels of Palace Night when taken in by Leica Cat which
shifted in after being bumped by Rameka. Shortly after the start Mazepa,
which was slow to begin, was steadied from the heels of Invincible which, after
becoming unbalanced and blundering on jumping, shifted out. Near the 900M when being steadied from the heels of Charlie
Chap Rameka got its head up, shifted out abruptly and hampered Leica Cat.
Leaving the 600M Invincible was steadied from the
heels of Tambara. Balgold, which was
following, was hampered in consequence. Making the home turn and in the straight Painted Thunder
hung out. After the race it was noted that Leica Cat had cast
its near fore plate. RACE 2 - DEVELOPMENT & BUILDING MAIDEN HANDICAP
1200M On jumping Barista became unbalanced after bumping Perfect
Pam. Near the 900M Fossick was checked when crowded
between No Tracks and Perfect Pam, which was taken in by Love
In Bloom which shifted in away from Matalino (G Buckley) after being taken in
slightly by that horse. G Buckley was told to exercise care. Then for some distance in the straight Fossick had
difficulty obtaining clear running and after initially being steadied from the heels of Northern
Cross approaching and leaving the 200M, was taken out across the heels of No Tracks.
Wondermill was held up for a run for some distance
in the straight and near the 100M was steadied from the heels of Northern Cross which
was giving ground. RACE 3 - ENVIRONMENT CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 2100M Mcgarrat, which was slow to begin,
made the 1600M crossing awkwardly. Near the 400M Space 'Em (A Huke) broke down and
fell. A Huke was examined by the club's medical officer and passed fit to fulfil his
remaining riding engagements. The club's veterinary surgeon reported that Space 'Em had
broken off side shoulder during running and had been euthanased. Over the concluding stages St Johnstone raced tight
to the inside of Mcgarrat which, when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Detawtus,
shifted in away from that horse. RACE 4 - HEALTH CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1600M Whilst parading behind the barriers Chamatilla reared
over and struck its head. Acting on veterinary advice that Chamatilla was
unfit to start, stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1.58pm. Stewards subsequently ordered that all monies wagered on Chamatilla
be refunded in full and made no other alteration to betting. Passing the first turn near the 1400M Dancer's Edge,
after brushing with Ritual, got its head up and ran out across the
heels of Beau Diamond. RACE 5 - RECYCLING CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1600M Rembrandt had difficulty obtaining clear running in the
early part of the straight. Over the concluding stages Larceny was inclined to
lay in under pressure and bumped Jacovic on a number of occasions. RACE 6 - RECREATION CLASS 3 HANDICAP (DIV 2) 1100M Kenny's Pride and Mustang were slow to begin. Near the 1000M Proud Persian and St Tevoc came
together when briefly tightened for room by Divine Lily which shifted in. In this
incident St Tevoc became unbalanced. Near the 200M Zofflene had to be steadied off the
heels of Canadian Hunter which shifted in abruptly. Rocklily was momentarily held up for clear running
in the early stages of the straight. RACE 7 - ROADS & TRANSPORT CLASS 3 HANDICAP (DIV 1)
1100M Lady With Style was slow to begin. Commencing the turn near the 600M Seto Chiffon shifted
in slightly and as a consequence Spirit Of America was steadied. Provided by NSW
