Race 1 - HORSHAM HIRE SUPER VOBIS THREE YEAR OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1100 METRES

On jumping away Plane Thought and Ivory Dream were slow to begin.

Approaching and rounding the home turn Ivory Dream hung out and upon straightening Ivory Dream continued to hang out and had to be eased off the heels of Golden Zeus which shifted out slightly. In the early part of the straight Just Jubilant became unbalanced when racing on the inside of Legal Gold.

Race 2 - ROYAL HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE 1800 METRES

On jumping away Satin Slave knuckled and then shifted out and bumped Lucky Veine. Approaching the 400 metres Benyang was held up for a run and then had to be eased off the heels of Lucky Veine. Benyang was again held up or a short distance approaching the home turn. In the straight Cold Duck was inconvenienced when tightened for room between Lucky Veine and Interface Rage which shifted out slightly.

Near the 1400 metres the saddle on Salquita Bay shifted forward placing M Pumpa the geldings rider at a considerable disadvantage and for this reason M Pumpa eased the gelding down after passing the 800 metres. Stewards notified G Murphy rider of Cold Duck that he must ensure that he rides all his mounts out to the end of the race.

Race 3 - MORROW NISSAN MAIDEN PLATE 1200 METRES

Rounding the home turn My Giddy Aunt had to be eased off the heels of Devonvale. In the early part of the straight Rich Core was held up and unable to obtain a clear run. Near the 600 metres Rich Core when over racing got its head up and had to be eased off the heels of Rural Miss. After passing the 200 metres Mission Bells had to be eased to avoid the heels of I'm A Pest which shifted out.

Stewards questioned D Missen rider of Trespassers Will to the reason why he did not improve his position after passing the 500 metres. D Missen explained that the gelding hung out in the early and middle stages of the race. D Missen further explained that Trespassers Will had not raced tractably near the 500m.. Stewards severely reprimanded D Missen and notified him that he should show far more initiative and vigour after passing the 500 metres. Stewards further notified D Missen that he should ride all his mounts in a manner that leaves no room for query.

Race 4 - LUCAS & MARSHMAN LAWYERS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1100 METRES

Prior to correct weight G Murphy rider of Schnitzel Von Krum second place getter wished to view the official patrol videos with the view of lodging an objection. After viewing the film G Murphy did not proceed with this requested and correct weight was declared. It was established over the concluding stages of the race Schnitzel Von Krum became unbalanced when racing tight on the inside of Century Hawk which shifted in slightly.

On jumping away Barlees, Schnitzel Von Krum and Karnak were tightened for room between Century Hawk, which shifts in slightly, and Grand Mansion which shifts out. Near the 600 metres Merchant of Venice had to be eased when tightened for room by Schnitzel Von Krum which shifted in. After passing the 600 metres Grand Mansion when over racing had to be eased off the heels of Luskelei.

Race 5 - TOOHEYS NEW HANDICAP 1400 METRES

Approaching the 800 metres Cool Prince had to be eased when tightened for room between Wilkinson, which shifted out slightly, and Bronze Monarch which shifted in. After passing the 800 metres Straits Code had to be eased off the heels of Teekayo which shifted in slightly. Near the 700 metres Umanoola had to be checked to avoid the heels of Teekayo which shifted out. Rounding the home turn Cool Prince was held up for a run. In the early part of the straight Straits Code had to be eased off the heels of Hot Raj.

Race 6 - O'CONNORS CASE IN CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200 METRES

M Evans rider of Triholm explained to the stewards that he believed the gelding went amiss after passing the 200 metres. Subsequent to the race the club veterinary surgeon reported that there were no abnormalities with Triholm.

Race 7 - WIMMERA MAIL TIMES CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1800 METRES

When the gates opened Aerolon was slow to begin.

Approaching the winning post the first time Prime Monarch had to be checked when tightened for room between Summer King, when after been brushed on the hind quarter shifted out slightly and Makaru which shifted in away from Sober Comment who in turn shifted in away from Paresse, .As no one rider was fully responsible stewards took no action.

Near the 400 metres Makaru had to be eased off the heels of Fast Zip which when weakening shifted in slightly.

Race 8 - RINTOULES BUS & TRAVEL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1400 METRES

Near the 1000 metres The Fondler had to be checked off the heels of Zerocco which when hanging in shifted in slightly.

FINES AND EXPLAINATIONS

Race 5 - Mr A O'Sullivan trainer of Cool Prince was fined the sum of $30 dollars for the use of the all white colours on the gelding

Race 7 - Mr E Musgrove trainer of Sober Comment was fined the sum of $30 dollars for the use of the all white colours on the gelding

Race 7 - Mr A Coffey Trainer of Fast Zip was fined the sum of $50 dollars for not presenting the gelding in the mounting yard with pacifiers when Fast Zip is an approved pacifier horse.
