RACE 1 – T & R PASTORAL SABIS COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE

Mr. P.G. Jones, Trainer of WIRINGI, was fined $50 under ARR 59A when the Document of Description for that gelding could not be produced. Stewards inspected WIRINGI from computer records held by them and the gelding was permitted to start.

In the vicinity of the 600 metres IDENTIFIABLE (B. Vale), which was showing a tendency to lay in, shifted in making slight contact with WIRINGI (K. Louca) for a short distance.

RACE 2 – QUEENSCLIFFE FAMILY HOTEL/SABIS FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN PLATE

CHAMPAGNE FINALE (P. Marks) and FLAME OF EDEN (A. Stead) were slow to begin.

RACE 3 – SUNSMART CLASS D HANDICAP

CLYDOMAN (J. Marks) was slow to begin.

Correct Weight for this event was delayed to enable C. Bryant, rider of KARNALI, to view the official video of the race shortly after the start. After doing so, in conjunction with Stewards, C. Bryant decided he would not proceed with lodging an objection.

RACE 4 – WEST END FLYING HANDICAP

No report.

RACE 5 – WOLF BLASS HANDICAP

Upon jumping away ACCELERATING (P. Marks) and DAMON (C. Bryant) brushed together.

Correct Weight for this event was delayed to enable P. Marks, rider of ACCELERATING, the third placegetter, to view the official photo finish for second. After viewing the print, the Judge’s numbers were verified and Correct Weight was duly notified.

RACE 6 – BUNDABERG RUM CLASS 5 HANDICAP

In the vicinity of the 1200 metres STACK (C. Bryant) shifted in slightly resulting in PRETTY ORDINARY (K. Louca) having to be steadied.

Racing to the 200 metres KEEPALANTE (P. Marks) rolled out slightly making contact with PRETTY ORDINARY (K. Louca).

Correct Weight for this event was delayed to enable C. Bryant, rider of STACK, the second placed horse by the Judge, to view the photo print for first. After viewing the print, the Judge’s numbers were verified and Correct Weight notified.

A veterinary inspection of JUST FOR DON, which tailed the field throughout, revealed that gelding to be suffering severe cardiac arrhythmia. As a result Mr. B.W. Searle, Trainer of JUST FOR DON, was advised that a satisfactory ECG will be required to be lodged and that gelding will have to trial satisfactorily in an official barrier trial, before accepting for any future event.
