Race 1 - Alicia MacPherson Training Stables AV 2YO Maiden Plate - 1100m

Acting on a report from the Starter regarding the unruly behavior of Valashka whilst being placed in the barriers, Stewards notified Mr. G. Mati, who was representing Mr. Tony McEvoy, trainer of the colt, that a warning would be placed against Valashka in relation to its behavior today and prior to racing again he must be in receipt of a Barrier Certificate. Due to Valashka's unruly behavior, the start of the race was delayed.

Domine was slow to begin and lost ground.

Shortly after the start King Fella was hampered when tightened for room by Dance Of Dreams.

Near the 800 metres King Street raced greenly and became unbalanced when racing tight on the inside of Dance Of Dreams.

From the 800 metres until straightening Puss Puss (NZ) hung out.

Near the 700 metres Dance Of Dreams shifted in towards the running rail and became unbalanced.

Subsequent to the race the Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that Puss Puss (NZ), which performed poorly, was showing signs of shin soreness.

Race 2 - Geni Gillis Training Stables SV 3YO Maiden Plate - 1600m

Prior to correct weight being declared K. Bandy rider of Zamazing, 4th placegetter, viewed the Stewards patrol film.

Samdin jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 1300 metres Lynches shifted out and made contact with Skram, resulting in both those geldings becoming unbalanced. Shortly after this Skram was hampered when tightened for room between Lynches and Nacagina, which shifted in slightly.

Near the 1200 metres Brakilla was hampered when taken out off its course by Nacagina (N. Callow), which shifted out to race outside the heels of Donna D"Ora. N. Callow was notified that he must ensure he is clear of other runners in future as not to cause interference.

Near the 600 metres Zamazing was inconvenienced when tightened for room between Dynasty Angel and Skram, which shifted out slightly.

Rounding the home turn Lynches was held up for a short distance behind Donna D'Ora, which was weakening.

Race 3 - Kilmore Trackside Tabaret F & M Maiden Plate - 1100m

Shortly after the start Our Greig was hampered when tightened for room between Miss Prosperity and El Volar, which was taken out by Crying Out Loud and Ski Sale.

Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Miss Prosperity was held up for a run. Crying Out Loud , which was following, was also held up.

T. Carson rider of Our Greig, 4th placegetter, explained to the Stewards, that after suffering some interference shortly after the start, the filly raced greenly in the early and middle stages of the race, and when improving slightly passing the 800 metres he then elected to balance the filly for a short distance, as she continued to race greenly. Carson further added that when the filly balanced up he rode it along with more vigour and the filly responded and made ground.Whilst accepting Our Grieg displayed a tendency to race greenly Stewards notified T. Carson that in their opinion he should have shown more vigour in his riding between the 700 metres and 550 metres when the filly was improving into the race.

Race 4 - "TROA" Carlton Draught Class 1 Handicap - 1600m

Stewards questioned J. Patton rider of Zabenz (NZ), into his riding of the gelding between the 800 metres and prior to straightening. J. Patton explained to the Stewards that he was instructed to ride the gelding back as per its pervious start and gradually improve prior to straightening, without covering any unnecessary extra ground. After viewing the official Stewards films, J. Patton agreed that he could have improved to the outside of Mr. Buster (NZ) from the 700 metres but it was his view in the race that he would cover unnecessary ground and be taken off the track rounding the home turn. Stewards notified J. Patton that his riding had caused them concern and in their opinion he should have eased his mount around and then came to the outside of Mr. Buster (NZ) passing the 700 metres, when he had an opportunity to do so.Patton was further notified that in future he should all his mounts in a manner that leaves no room to be queried.

Race 5 - Carlton Draught Class 4 Handicap - 1600m

Rounding the home turn Paragon King (NZ) hung out.

Near the 200 metres Blue Star (NZ) shifted out and brushed Fishguard (NZ).

Race 6 - International Trucks Class 3 Handicap - 1200m

Prior to correct weight being declared V. Duric rider of Fifeshire, 3rd placegetter, lodged an objection against Silver Logie (N. Callow) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference for 100 metres after the start. After taking evidence from the relative parties and viewing the Stewards patrol films, Stewards dismissed the objection. It was established that shortly after the start Fifeshire was racing tight between Silver Logie, which had jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, and Baltik And Bread, which was taken out slightly by Runaway Clip. Fifeshire then had to be checked when tightened for room between Silver Logie and Baltik And Bread, due to both those horses shifting ground slightly.

Near the 1000 metres Runaway Clip had tobe checked when tightened for room by Baltik And Bread, which shifted in away from Silver Logie.

Near the 800 metres Baltik And Bread was tightened for room by Silver Logie (N. Callow), which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. N. Callow was severely reprimanded and notified that he must ensure he is sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground in future.

After passing the 200 metres Raami's Power had some difficulty in obtaining a clear run.

Race 8 - Lee Hope Training Stables Class 1 Handicap - 1200m

Near the 1000 metres Poetic Pursuit was hampered and taken off its course by Kel (R. Cartwright), which shifted in abruptly when not clear. Kel continued to shift in, which resulted in Poetic Pursuit then having to be eased off that gelding's heels. R.
