Riding Changes:

Race Horse Rider Replaced By Reason
 2 Pazazz  M. Pay  N. Callow  Indisposed
4 Orcaella A. Findlay M. Evans Indisposed
5 Bachi A. FIndlay M. ALlen Indisposed

Race 1 - Renick Concreting 3YO & Up Maiden Plate - 1100m

Near the 1000 metres Agreeance and Rocky were tightened for room by Hitmonchan, which after initially shifting in away from Paper Counter (M. Pumpa), was then taken in slightly by that colt. Whilst accepting that Hitmonchan had contributed to this interference, Stewards notified Mat Pumpa to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

Race 2 - S & M Electrical Services 3YO & Up Maiden Plate - 1600m

G. Eades rider of Royal Celebrity, 2nd placegetter, lodged and objection against Miramishee being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference from the 150 metres. After hearing evidence from all parties concerned and viewing the patrol video, Stewards dismissed the objection. It was established that near the 150 metres Royal Celebrity obtained a narrow run on the inside of Miramishee, which was shifting in and that near the 50 metres Royal Celebrity was inconvenienced by Miramishee (S. Vella) which was laying in under pressure. As a result of the incident near the 150 metres Something Clever had to be eased off the heels of Royal Celebrity. Stewards notified S. Vella that when racing in similar circumstances in future he must straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.

Race 3 - Ron Davis Carpets Class 2 Handicap - 1600m

No report.

Race 4 - Kilmore Garage Doors Class 3 Handicap - 1200m

Chiaretto jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 800 metres Orcaella and Plimbing Plus (NZ) raced tight on the inside of Gold Gem, which after initially shifting in slightly, was taken in slightly by Fraadi Knight.

Race 5 - Gaffco F & M Class 1 Handicap - 1100m

Prior to correct weight being declared Sally Wynne viewed the photo finish.

Stewards questioned V. Duric rider and Lee Hope trainer of Geiger Force regarding the filly's improved performance today. V. Duric, who has ridden the filly at its two last starts this time in, could offer no explanation other than to explain that the filly, after trialing well prior to its Moonee Valley start on 14th February was then very disappointing at its next two starts after leading and showing early speed, but then weakening quickly after being headed. Lee Hope confirmed the evidence of V. Duric and added that he had also been disappointed with the filly's performance until today, and advised that he had no explanation other than he did vary the filly's work slightly during the week preceding todays event which may have been to the benefit of Geiger Force.

Sally Wynne rider of Stradie, 3rd placegetter, explained that the mare raced further back today than normal, due to the fast pace in the early stages and also because she eased off the heels of Arkropolis near the 800 metres and she also added that Stradie was reluctant to race tightly amongst the field today.

Near the 400 metres Pretty Gaze laid out and was eased off the heels of Danure.

Race 6 - Northern Fascia Class 5 Handicap - 1600m

Peroni jumped away awkwardly.

Rounding the home turn Kruger Park laid out on to Mishkah and Tooborack.

Passing the 200 metres Peroni was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of E. Marchant rider of Londoner.

Race 7 - Kilmore Country Painting Class 2 Handicap - 1900m

Leys jumped out on to Campaign, which then knuckled and became unbalanced.

Turning out of the straight the first time Our Raami Guest and Leys were tightened for room by Campaign, which after shifting in slightly away from La Cimbali (NZ) (N. Callow), was then taken in slightly by that mare. Noel Callow was notified to exercise far more care when shifting ground in future.

Race 8 - Estate All Storage 3YO & Up Maiden Plate - 1900m

At the start Whisk was tightened for room by Kapalua Bay, which shifted in.

Passing the 500 metres Zacobba (NZ) had difficulty in obtaining a clear run on the inside of Volcanic Flight.

Leon Corstens trainer of Miss Mojo (Race 5) was fined $50 for late notification of V. Caddy as the rider of the filly.
