        shifted out and brushed Makbar (NZ). Rounding the home turn Yanga's Girl had to be checked when
        tightened for room by Romantic Lass, which shifted in when racing greenly. Near the 200 metres Bow She Goes shifted in slightly
        resulting in Thurman, which had obtained a narrow run on his inside, being taken in on to
        Mandate, which also shifted out slightly. Subsequent to the race the Club's Veterinary Surgeon
        reported that Thurman had sustained a wound to its near hind leg. Race 2 - Des Roswell 60th Birthday
        Class 3 Handicap - 1209m Rounding the home turn Carnival Capers was held up when
        unable to obtain a clear run. Also rounding the home turn Rory's Thought laid out under
        pressure. Near the 300 metres Carnival Capers had to be eased off the
        heels of Scoop The Gold. Race 3 - City Ford Maiden Plate - 1464m When the gates opened Chenonceau was slow to begin. In the early part of the straight Elcapone was held up for
        a run and then after passing the 200 metres shifted out abruptly to obtain a clear run. Race 4 - Midland Express Class 1 Handicap - 1464m When the gates opened Judy was hampered when tightened for
        room between Lorrelee, which shifted in slightly and Miss Vittoria, which shifted out
        slightly. At the entrance to the straight, Kamsack had to be eased
        off the heels of Miramishee, which shifted in slightly. In the straight Motiti Lane (NZ) laid in under pressure. Approaching the winning post Coeur De Lion was slightly
        inconvenienced when tightened for room by Miramishee, which shifted in slightly. Subsequent to the race the Club's Veterinary Surgeon
        reported that Judy was showing signs of a respiratory ailment. Mr. D. McCrohan trainer of
        Judy was notified that the satisfactory results of an ECG conducted before and after
        exercise, must be submitted prior to racing again. Subsequent to the race the Club's Veterinary Surgeon
        reported that Kamsack sustained wounds to both hind legs. Race 5 - N J Dyer Racing Stables Class 4 Handicap
        - 1868m An inquiry was adjourned into the reason for Raise Cash
        falling and Master George, Persistence Pays and Keeping Promises being hampered near the
        500 metres, to a date to be fixed. Race 6 - Tooheys New SV 3YO Maiden Plate - 1109m
         Approaching the 900 metres Zoffiel had to be eased to avoid
        the heels of Bequetee (Miss C. Payne), which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Miss
        C. Payne was reprimanded and notified to exercise more care when shifting ground in
        future. Approaching the winning post Natural Force had to be eased
        when tightened for room between Zoffiel, which shifted out slightly and Como, which
        shifted in. Race 7 - Kyneton "C" Store Class 1
        Handicap - 1109m No report. Race 8 - Hardwicks Meatworks Pty Ltd Maiden Plate
        - 1868m No report. SWAB SAMPLES Swab samples were taken from the following winners -
        Moriarty Star (Race 2), Vettori Gold (Race 3), Ad Hoc (Race 6), Hydro Carbon (Race 7)  A random swab was taken from Gorbachov (Race 1) FINES & EXPLANATIONS Stewards accepted the explanation offered by Mr. S. Jackson
        trainer of Elcapone (Race 3) regarding his late notification of rider. Stewards accepted the explanation offered by E. Cassar
        regarding him being unable to fulfil his engagement to ride Misscando (Race 1) due to
        being overweight. E. Cassar was subsequently ruled unfit to ride for the remainder of the
        day. Stewards accepted the explanation offered by Mr. R. Millar
        who was representing Mr. L. Corstens trainer of Golden Prodigy (Race 4) regarding his late
        notification of rider. Stewards accepted the explanation offered by Mr. J. Blakey
        trainer of Master George (Race 5) regarding his late notification of rider. Mr. J. Blakey trainer of Master George (Race 5) was fined
        $30 for using wrong colours on the gelding. Stewards accepted the explanation offered by Mr. N. Dyer
