Stewards that BRIGHTNESS was never comfortable in the early and middle stages and in the

asked for an effort in the vicinity of the 400 metres, BRIGHTNESS was slow in responding
to his riding and he felt this was due to the fact that the race had been run at a fast
pace and that the mare carried 57kg in todays event. B. Claridge was advised that
his explanations had been noted. A veterinary inspection of BRIGHTNESS found that the mare
had jarred up in both front legs. RACE 6 BARDRILL

win and place made prior to the withdrawal were to be paid on the face value of the ticket
