1 "Stand Clear"  A. Findlay  B. Park  Doubly Engaged

Race 1 - STEEPLES TABARET SUPER VOBIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE - 2000 metres:

On arrival at the barrier "Stand Clear" was examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to run.

On jumping away "Grand Watch" was tightened for room between "Carry me Home (NZ)", which shifted out, and "Stand Clear".

Near the 1600 metres "Zo Ally", when over-racing, shifted out abruptly, and hampered "Our Bullbaa".

On the home turn "Stand Clear" had to be eased when tightened for room by "Carry me Home (NZ)", which shifted in.

Race 2 - CARLTON DRAUGHT MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres:

Near the 600 metres "Save the Reef" brushed the running rail.

In the straight "Cheque Book Blitz" had to be eased when tightened for room by "Keep me in Mind", which shifted out away from "Molly Ellen (NZ)" after initially being brushed by that filly which shifted out to obtain a run. V. Duric, rider of "Molly Ellen (NZ)", was notified to exercise more care when attempting to obtain runs in future.

Race 3 - BECOME A MORNINGTON MEMBER FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE - 1500 metres:

On arrival at the start "In Red" got its leg over the running rail prior to being boxed. A veterinary examination passed the filly fit to run.

Prior to being boxed the bridle on "In Red" broke, which necessitated replacement. This resulted in the start of the race being delayed.

Race 4 - JEFF WIGNALL FORD CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1500 metres:

Near the 1000 metres "Aubbutler" had to be checked when tightened for room by "Poetic Pursuit" which, when over-racing, shifted in slightly.

Race 5 - DENNIS NUGENT & ASSOCIATES CLASS 5 HANDICAP - 2000 metres:

On arrival at the course "Verbito" was examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, who reported to the Stewards that the gelding was lame in the off fore leg and was unfit to run. Acting on this advice the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of "Verbito" at 12.02 p.m.

A random swab sample was taken from "Miss Scotia", which ran unplaced in the Become a Mornington Member Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate - Race 3.
