RACE 1 – COLLINS ANDERSON MANAGEMENT & RECRUITMENT MAIDEN PLATE:

J. Potter replaced M. Neilson as the rider of GREG, owing to that rider being injured.

The start of this race was delayed owing LUCKY DUCODE proving difficult to load.

Mr. R. Morgan, Trainer of LUCKY DUCODE, was advised that a repetition of the gelding’s behaviour at the barrier may lead to action being taken against it.

GLENWEST (J. Lorensini) and OCHEROUS (D. Carney) were slow to jump.

In the middle stages LUCKY DUCODE (W. Kerford) got its head up and raced ungenerously.

Subsequent to the event a Veterinary inspection of SIAM revealed the gelding suffered a deep laceration to the off hind heel during the race.

RACE 2 – BLIGHT & O’NEIL MENSLAND SABIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE:

C. Bryant replaced M. Neilson as the rider of SCENICNICK.

DE ROSSI was withdrawn by Stewards at 12.56 p.m., acting on Veterinary advice that filly was lame in the near fore fetlock.

Stewards ruled that all monies wagered on DE ROSSI be refunded. Bets made prior to the withdrawal were to be paid on the face value of the ticket less:
Bets for a WIN - 42 cents in the dollar from the face value of the ticket, and
Bets for a PLACE - 24 cents in the dollar from the winnings only.

RAISE THE ISSUE (W. Kerford) jumped away awkwardly.

Racing to the 200 metres MISS SHOSHANA (C. Buchiw) was obliged to steady when tightened by RAISE THE ISSUE (W. Kerford), which was inclined to shift in and away from IT’S AN HONOUR (L. Smith).

Approaching the finish RAISE THE ISSUE (W. Kerford), which was inclined to lay away from IT’S AN HONOUR (L. Smith), was unable to obtain clear ground.

EDVOKIA was withdrawn by Stewards at 2.08 p.m., acting on Veterinary advice that the filly was unfit to start.

Mr. M. Whittle, Trainer of EDVOKIA, was advised that a repetition of the filly’s behaviour may lead to action being taken against it.

Stewards ruled that all monies wagered on EDVOKIA be refunded. Bets made prior to the withdrawal were to be paid on the face value of the ticket less:

Bets for a WIN - 7 cents in the dollar from the face value of the ticket, and

Stewards ruled that all monies wagered on PINOT NOW and SPEEDOVICH be refunded. Bets made prior to the withdrawals were to be paid on the face value of the ticket less:
Bets for a WIN - 23 cents in the dollar from the face value of the ticket, and
Bets for a PLACE - 25 cents in the dollar from the winnings only.

Inside the 400 metres INTERLOCK (L. Smith) was severely hampered when tightened between SOEUR BLEU (S. Price) which rolled out, and ROMEO’S PRINCESS (J. Maund) which shifted in under pressure. As a result, the hindquarters of ROMEO’S PRINCESS became turned out, resulting in that mare becoming unbalanced for a short distance.
