 RACE 1 - FIRST NATIONAL - THE
NAME IN REAL ESTATE MAIDEN PLATE 1500M On jumping Blue Chequer was checked when Candelaria jumped
awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. In the early part of the straight Blue Chequer had
difficulty obtaining a clear run between Forrest Pride and Kilcurley. On returning to scale D McLellan was dislodged from
Kilcurley, examined by the ambulance officers and passed fit to fulfil his remaining
        engagements. RACE 2 - WWW.FIRSTNATIONAL.COM.AU PROVINCIAL CLASS 1 AND
MAIDEN PLATE 1850M As M Scorse was overweight, D Spriggs was substituted as
the rider of Prince Kellina. M Scorse's explanation was accepted. When the pace steadied near the 1500M Albero ran on to the
heels of Ethan and got its head up. A post race veterinary examination of Mezdorf revealed the
mare had been galloped on on the near hind leg. RACE 3 - FIRST NATIONAL FINE HOMES CLASS 1 HANDICAP
1400M Marples and Bondi Run were crowded at the start between
Predominater, which shifted out, and Hunter Hermitage, which shifted in. In the middle stages Why I Wonder raced fiercely, got its
head up and near the 700M had to be restrained away from the heels of Marples. Bondi Run, which was overracing, was hampered in
consequence. Bondi Run continued to overrace and near the 600M got its head up and was
steadied off the heels of Why I Wonder. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of
Predominater, M Newnham stated that when placed under pressure Predominator felt sore and
as such he did not ride it out to the end of the race. A post race veterinary examination
of Predominater did not reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken. Stable
representative for trainer G Waterhouse was told to report if there is anything amiss with
Predominator in the days subsequent to the event. RACE 4 - FIRST NATIONAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT MAIDEN PLATE
(DIV 1) 1200M Due to an electrical malfunction this race was started
manually. Dantonesque and Nitsua bumped at the start. Inter The Fray jumped awkwardly losing ground and then
raced greenly throughout. Magic Sort had to be steadied away from the heels of
Fortunelle on several occasions passing the 600M. Inter The Fray, which was racing to the inside of Magic
Sort, had to be steadied when that filly shifted in slightly. Over the final 200 metres Inter The Fray was inclined to
hang inwards under pressure. Over the concluding stages Milady Ann was crowded and
bumped when racing tight between Inter The Fray and Magic Sort which shifted in slightly
under pressure. RACE 5 - FIRST NATIONAL HOME SELLERS GUIDE MAIDEN PLATE
(DIV 2) 1200M On return to scale an objection was lodged by D Spriggs,
the rider of second placegetter Mintiki, against Skoozi's Girl (T Jones) being declared
the winner, alleging interference near the 1100M. After taking evidence from all parties
concerned and viewing the films, it was established that approaching the 1100M Skoozi's
Girl shifted in causing Jambala to shift in on to Forest Vista, which was checked and
shifted inwards crowding Mintiki. Stewards were of the opinion that although Mintiki was
crowded the interference suffered by that filly was not sufficient to alter the placings
and as such the objection was dismissed. At a subsequent inquiry T Jones pleaded guilty to a charge
of careless riding under AR 137(a) and his licence to ride in races was suspended for a
period to commence on Sunday 17 March 2002 and to expire on Sunday 27 March 2002 on which
day he may ride. Mintiki jumped awkwardly. Forest Vista and Jambala bumped heavily at the start. La Minita was slow into stride. Near the 100M Will Anyone Dance, which was racing greenly,
shifted out and bumped Mintiki. RACE 6 - FIRST NATIONAL PROPERTY GUIDE CLASS 1 HANDICAP
900M Little Gabby shifted out abruptly at the start. Swiss Franc jumped awkwardly and was inclined to hang out
throughout. In the early stages Gold Deck raced fiercely and near the
700M got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of Swiss Franc. RACE 7 - FIRST NATIONAL REAL ESTATE CUP 1300M On jumping Sri Lanka shifted outwards bumping Sea Jester
out on to Frappe. Over the final 50 metres Simmering Simon was tightened for
room when Sea Jester (L Fitzsimmons) shifted in under pressure. Apprentice L Fitzsimmons
was advised to stop and straighten his mounts when they shift ground. RACE 8 - FIRST NATIONAL COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL 2 YO
MAIDEN PLATE 1200M Black Hawk was slow into stride. Approaching the first turn Vogt got its head up, shifted
out abruptly bumping heavily with All Gold. Logger overraced getting its head up in the early and
middle stages. Near the 900M O'Mine was taken in and steadied when Danish
Thunder (D McLellan) crossed when not quite clear. D McLellan was reprimanded and advised
to exercise more care. Near the 800M Vogt, which had continued to race greenly,
had to be checked out away from the heels of O'Mine. Approaching the 200M Reve (A W Robinson) shifted out
inconveniencing Vogt and Misprint. A W Robinson was advised to exercise more care when
shifting ground. Reve then hung out under pressure over the final 100
