Race 1 - B.C. Drake Maiden Handicap 1000m
When asked for an explanation for the poor performance of
Gettin Gone, A Bodey, the mares rider, stated to the stewards that Gettin Gone travelled
well in the early stages of the race but when he put the mare under pressure from the
600m, it did not respond to his riding. A Bodey further added that Gettin Gone may have
held her breath. A vetinary examination of Gettin Gone failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 2 - Roman Leathergoods
Open Trophy Race Handicap 1000m
On jumping away Serengetti Blaze and Peppermint Ranch came
together.
Race 3 - Racers Tabaret Restricted Trophy Race
(3) Handicap 1500m
Salacity jumped away awkwardly.
Approaching the 1300m Salacity shifted in slightly and
hampered Military Truce.
After passing the 1200m Salacity again shifted in and
brushed Military Truce resulting in that mare becoming unbalanced.
Race 4 - Pakenham Produce Open Trophy Race
Handicap 1500m
Portland Prince was slow to begin.
Approaching the 1200m Google lost his footing and became
unbalanced.
Race 5 - G & K O'Connor Pakenham Picnic
Cup 1700m
On jumping away Lockyer Lad was slow to begin and Another
Belief knuckled.
Rounding the home turn Cavla was held up when unable to
obtain a clear run.
Race 6 - Roman Leathergoods Restricted Trophy
Race (1) Handicap 1700m
In the early stages of the race both Pyramul's Image &
Charmandene were inclined to get their heads in the air when being restrained.
Shortly after staightening Charmandene shifted in abruptly
when hanging in and hampered Yeager. As a result, Peta Tait, rider of Charmandene
accidentally dropped her whip.
