RACE 1 – WEST COAST INSURANCE BROKERS C. G. & E. CLASS 3 HANDICAP:

HUG A MUG (J. Potter) was fractious in the starting gates prior to the start.

FLEET DAPPER (H. McKechnie) was slow to begin.

DIGBURY (R. Faehr) jumped out at the start and bumped HUG A MUG (J. Potter), which was also slow to begin.

DIGBURY (R. Faehr) showed a tendency to over-race in the early stages.

Over the concluding stages STARBLAZER (M. Hoppo) shifted in and hampered DIGBURY (R. Faehr).

M. Hoppo was reminded of his obligations when riding his mounts out to the line.

Subsequent to the race a Veterinary inspection of HUG A MUG revealed no visible abnormalities.

RACE 2 – KYM CLARKE GENERAL BUILDERS CLASS 6 HANDICAP:

A Veterinary inspection of OXFORD COUNTESS (W. Kerford) revealed no visible abnormalities.

RACE 3 – GRAND TASMAN HOTEL HANDICAP:

ZOOMERATOR was inspected by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon shortly after arriving on course and passed fit to take its place in the field.

UNSUB (R. Faehr) was slow to begin.

In the vicinity of the 1300 metres UNSUB (R. Faehr) showed a tendency to race ungenerously for a short distance.

In the vicinity of the 250 metres CURIUM (B. Claridge) shifted out and hampered ZOOMERATOR (H. McKechnie). Shortly after ZOOMERATOR shifted in and as a result CURIUM had to be steadied for a few strides. B. Claridge and H. McKechnie were reminded of their obligations when shifting ground.

RACE 4 – CENTRAL TELEVISION HANDICAP:

No report.

RACE 5 – PENINSULA MOTEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP:

LANDSLIP (W. Kerford) jumped away awkwardly and as a result lost some ground.

In the vicinity of the 900 metres SIMMS COVE (H. McKechnie) shifted in onto KIRKALA (J. Maund), which in turn shifted in and hampered CHAUDON (J. Potter), which tightened SALTARA (A. Stead). In the incident both CHAUDON and SALTARA lost some ground. H. McKechnie was reprimanded and advised in future to give riders on her inside the room to which they are entitled.

In the vicinity of the 100 metres SALTARA (A. Stead) shifted in under riding and hampered KIRKALA (J. Maund). A. Stead was reminded of his obligations when riding his mounts out to the line.

Subsequent to the race the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon reported LANDSLIP had returned sore in the near foreleg.

RACE 6 – SWETTENHAM STUD/SABIS FILLIES & MARES CLASS 3 HANDICAP:

COZARVY (H. McKechnie) was slow to begin.

In the vicinity of the 300 metres SIMCEPT (K. Louca) shifted out and as a result LITTLE MISS CINDY (R. Faehr) was taken wider.

RACE 7 – SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BLOODHORSE BREEDERS ASSOCIATION MAIDEN PLATE:

A. Stead was notified as the rider of FLINDERS DREAM when no other rider was available until after the emergency runners were scratched.

Correct Weight was delayed to allow J. Maund, rider of the 4th Placegetter HILL SEA, to view the Stewards head-on Patrol film over the concluding stages. After doing so, in conjunction with Stewards, Correct Weight was declared.

In the vicinity of the 350 metres RUSSIAN ROCKET (K. Louca) had to be steadied from the heels of LADY SPICE (Darren Holland).

Over the concluding stages SOUTHERN TOUCH (J. Potter) shifted in and hampered HILL SEA (J. Maund).

J. Potter was reminded of his obligations when riding his mounts out to the line.
