to jump. In the vicinity of the 700 metres GLENDI
BELLE (J. Marks), which was inclined to race greenly, shifted out and checked itself off
the heels of OXFORD BELLA (B. Claridge) and lost its position. As a result FEAR REIGN (B.
Vale) was forced to check off the heels of GLENDI BELLE. In consequence, EXPLETIVE (Darren
Holland) was obliged to shift out to avoid FEAR REIGN and in doing so brushed
FLINDERS DREAM (C. Lindop). Over the concluding stages COZARVY (L.
Smith) was inclined to lay in under pressure and approaching the finish, L. Smith was
obliged to stop riding and correct his mount. RACE 2 MAGIC MILLIONS / SABIS
TWO-YEAR-OLD CLASS 2 HANDICAP LAPDOG (C. Lindop) and DOMESTIX (M.
Hoppo) were slow to jump. KINCHEGA (J. Marks) hung in throughout the
event. Near the 600 metres MR MONTINO (W. Kerford)
shifted in whilst under pressure resulting in MISS ZUTPHEN (B. Grimston) being tightened
onto SPECIAL LOVE (J. Burgess). MISS ZUTPHEN was obliged to steady and SPECIAL LOVE was
inconvenienced in this incident. Making the turn at the entrance to the
straight LAPDOG (C. Lindop) hung out severely. In the vicinity of the 100 metres KINCHEGA

effort to keep that gelding straight. LAPDOG shifted its off fore plate during
the race. Subsequent to the race a veterinary
inspection of KINCHEGA revealed that gelding to have a severe cut to the off side of its
mouth. Mr. R.J. King, the Trainer of KINCHEGA, was advised that a Veterinary Certificate
of Fitness to Race would be required before accepting for a future event. RACE 3 WEST COAST SECURITY
COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES CLASS 3 HANDICAP J. Potter, the rider of AROUND THE
RING, was questioned regarding his riding of that gelding between the 700 metres and the
entrance to the straight. J. Potter advised that he had been instructed to ride AROUND THE
RING back in the field in an endeavour to offset its wide barrier gate, to work down the
dip in the vicinity of the 600 metres and to be aware that the gelding had only a 200
metre sprint. He stated that in the vicinity of the 1000 metres he had restrained his
mount to obtain a position closer to the fence and succeeded in doing so but racing to the
700 metres he had been unable to improve owing to his position in the field and had placed
his mount under pressure just prior to the entrance to the straight when he shifted to the
outside of KAILEY FALCON (C. Buchiw). Mr. R. Angelo, the Trainer of AROUND THE RING,
confirmed his instruction. J. Potter was reprimanded and advised that in the
Stewards opinion, his ride lacked initiative in the vicinity of the 600 metres at
which point they believe he had an opportunity to improve his position. He was advised, in
future, he would be expected to display more initiative. RACE 4 GRAND TASMAN HOTEL
CLASS 5 HANDICAP In the vicinity of the 800 metres
RANGER SAM (B. Claridge), which had commenced to race keenly, was obliged to steady after
improving onto the heels of THRU THE TRAFFIC (W. Kerford). RACE 5 YALUMBA CLASS 1
HANDICAP The start of this event was delayed
owing to SIMMS COVE (B. Grimston) and PEARLS IMAGE (K. Louca) proving difficult to
load. Mr. R. Wilkins, the Trainer of PEARLS IMAGE, was advised that a repetition of
the mares behaviour would lead to action being taken against it. Mr. B. Cozamanis,
the Trainer of SIMMS COVE, was advised that a repetition of the geldings behaviour
would lead to action being taken against it. K. Louca, the rider of PEARLS IMAGE,
was reprimanded over his use of the whip prior to the start. On jumping away PEARLS IMAGE (K.
Louca) jumped in onto RODREGUEZ (S. Lovegrove) at the same time as SIMMS COVE (B.
Grimston) jumped out onto SUNESSE (B. Vale) resulting in SUNESSE and RODREGUEZ being
tightened and hampered. During the middle stages of this event
DIGBURY (C. Lever) got its head up and was inclined to race ungenerously. Near the 200 metres SIMMS COVE (B.
Grimston) shifted in taking PEARLS IMAGE (K. Louca) in onto SALTARA (C. Buchiw)
resulting in PEARLS IMAGE being obliged to check off the heels of SIMMS COVE. B.
Grimston pleaded guilty to a charge of Careless Riding under ARR 137(a) and was suspended
for a period to commence at midnight tonight and to expire at midnight on 9th
March 2002; a period of two metropolitan meetings. Approaching the finish SIMMS COVE (B.
Grimston), which had continued to shift in under riding, tightened SALTARA (C. Buchiw)
resulting in that gelding being inconvenienced. RACE 6 WIBBERLEYS HANDICAP In the vicinity of the 350 metres
SAN QUEEN (B. Claridge) shifted out and brushed COSMIKADO (C. Buchiw). Subsequent to the race COSMIKADO was
inspected by the Clubs Veterinary Surgeon who reported that gelding was exhibiting
signs of an upper respiratory problem. Mr. M. Hebberman, the Trainer of COSMIKADO, was
advised that the results of an endoscopic examination was to be forwarded to the TRSA
Veterinarian before accepting for a future race. RACE 7 BOSTON BAY WINES
HANDICAP BLUE WONDER, which had been kicked
in the mounting yard, was inspected by the Clubs Veterinary Surgeon at the start,
who reported the mare had a haematoma on her near side rump and was unfit to start. BLUE
WONDER was withdrawn by Stewards at 3.53 pm. Stewards ruled that all monies invested on
BLUE WONDER be refunded. Bets made prior to the withdrawal were to be paid on the face

event. Near the 200 metres JUST A FIRE (C. Lever)
was obliged to steady off the heels of ZOOMERATOR (B. Vale), which shifted in. B. Vale was
reminded of his obligations. Inside the 200 metres CURIUM (B. Claridge)
shifted in under riding and tightened TOP CHANCE (J. Burgess) onto ALL RISE (Darren
