Rosehill (NSW) - Saturday 15 September 2001

Race 1 - Four 'N' Twenty Pies (1,100m):

Mandarin Princess was slow to begin. Making the first turn Shaanxi, which had been inclined to get its head up and race ungenerously, blundered badly when it ran out across the heels of Patterns. Shaanxi continued to over-race throughout the middle stages. Pirouettes and Pokey Hill experienced difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. A post-race veterinary examination of Shaanxi revealed no abnormality.

Race 2 - Duracell Handicap (2,000m):

Touch of Sun was slow to begin. Near the 800m Masonry was checked off the heels of Umarond, shifted out, and took Strange wide A post-race veterinary examination revealed that Umarond had been galloped on the off hind leg.

Race 3 - Coca Cola Heritage Stakes (1,200m):

Time Out and Stashes were slow to begin. Magic Hatter jumped in the air at the start. Stashes suffered a bleeding attack during the event. Trainer Mr N.Layt was advised that the colt now incurred an automatic three months bar (AR53A).

Race 4 - Eaglehawk by Wolf Blass Superfecta (1,500m):

Sunder Bank was slow to begin. Approaching the 1,300m Mr. Spielberg was momentarily tightened by Outgate, which was taken in by Desk Top Lover when that horse was being restrained off the heels of Vampire. When questioned, B.Cooper (The Man) said her instructions today were similar to last week's, but with not as much pace on today she was able to take up a more forward position. App.B.Timmis (Sunder Bank) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding (AR.137(a)), in that she permitted her mount to shift in near the 200m, resulting in Mr. Spielberg being checked. App.Timmis's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on 16 September 2001 and to expire on 27 September 2001, on which day she may ride.

Race 5 - Dynamo Tea Rose Stakes (1,500m):

Moonflute blundered shortly after the start. A post-race veterinary examination of Moonflute revealed no abnormality. A swab sample was taken. For some distance passing the 200m Barawin (G.Boss) hung in badly, resulting in Republic Lass being inconvenienced. G.Boss was told that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount.

Race 6 - Castle Oxyfresh Hill Stakes (1,750m):

When questioned about the disappointing performance of Able Way, J.Innes said his mount was not suited by today's firm track and the fast early pace. He added that the gelding never travelled at any stage of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of Able Way revealed no abnormality. A swab sample was taken.

Race 7 - Choose Cadbury Shannon Stakes (1,400m):

Velsontas was slow to begin. Diamond Dane knuckled shortly after the start. Silver Castle was held up for a run in the early part of the straight. A veterinary examination of Georgie Boy, which weakened badly in the straight, revealed no abnormality. Trainer Mr J.Pride advised that Georgie Boy had got its tongue over the bit and that he now intended to experiment with gear changes prior to the gelding's next race start. Mr Pride said he would advise of the results of a full veterinary examination, including an endoscopy, to be conducted in the days subsequent to the race.

Race 8 - The Berri Fruit Juices Superfecta (1,900m):

Near the 200m Rings of Gold shifted in and bumped Specialist.
