Race 5 D. Beadman on Ashram
Race 7 M. de Montfort on Banockburn½kg over as no rider
 available at the weight.
RACE 1: Rosehill Gardens Event Centre Handicap 1100m Lovely Jubly began awkwardly. Barabella was slow to begin. After being crossed by Chuckle on the first
turn, Lovely Jubly got its head up and was inclined to race ungenerously when
steadied off the heels of that runner. RACE 2: Stitches & Craft Handicap 1500m My Tally began awkwardly and its rider, D. McLellan,
struck his right knee on the side of the barrier. D. McLellan was subsequently examined by the club's doctor
and stood down from his remaining engagements. Leaving the 1300m My Tally and Sirspec were
tightened for room by My Special Scorpio, which was taken in
slightly by Centa Prima (K. Forrester). K. Forrester was reprimanded and advised to ensure he is
clear when shifting ground. For some distance thereafter Sirspec overraced and
near the 1000m had to steady off the heels of Unchain. Near the 200m Sirspec had to shift out across the
heels of Martino to obtain clear running. RACE 3: Burtons' Colossal Collectables At the 700m Mukka Damarto had to be checked when Secret
Decree was inclined to lay in away from Aromatherapy. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Secret
Decree had been galloped on the off-hock during running. Rounding the home turn Descendant was disappointed
for a run between Strawberry Blonde and Jet Shoes. RACE 4: STC Young Members Cruise Superfecta 2000m Recruits and Josiah came together as Recruits
endeavoured to shift out from behind the heels of Simmysue passing the 300m. R. Quinn (Recruits) stated that
when his mount began well and there was no early pace he was able to take up a more
forward position today. App. G. Scimone, rider of Goodwood,
which raced disappointingly, stated that in his view the gelding found the track surface
too firm today. A post-race veterinary examination of Goodwood revealed
no abnormality. A swab sample was taken. RACE 5: Matador Towbars Handicap 1100m Superiority was slow to begin. Storm Coming began awkwardly and made contact with
the hindquarters of Al Megdam. On two occasions in the middle stages Athelnoth ran
out when being steadied away from the heels of Storm Coming. At the 900m Roadaka shifted out away from Choisir
and had to be checked off the heels of Jesters Lad. Roadaka continued to race ungenerously and shifted
in on the first turn inconveniencing Superiority. Roadaka than ran wider. Blur commenced to hang out rounding the home turn
and then hung out badly over the concluding stages inconveniencing Al Megdam.
At the entrance to the straight Gladiada had
difficulty obtaining clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Storm Coming had sustained
abrasions to the off-hind leg during running. D. Vargiu (Storm Coming) was reprimanded for permitting his mount to
shift in near the 1000m causing Ashram to be hampered. When questioned concerning the performance of Cool Trent,
trainer Mr D. Lawson stated that the horse has not shown any early brilliance and from its
wide barrier he anticipated Cool Trent racing back in the field. B. Prebble stated that he would have like to have been
closer in the early stages, but other than race extremely wide he had no other option but
to come across behind the field to obtain cover in a trailing position three wide. He added that his cause was not assisted with a moderate
pace early and the race developing into a sprint home. B. Prebble stated that whilst he
realised he had got out of his ground, to have placed Cool Trent under pressure any
earlier would not have been in the best interests of the horse. He added that he was then taken wider when Roadaka shifted
out and when placed under pressure entering the straight Cool Trent ran home
strongly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Blur sustained
abrasions to the near hind and off-fore pasterns during running. RACE 6: Better Choice Home Loans Handicap 1200m At the entrance to the straight Ha Ha came into
contact with Yoruba when disappointed for a run between Yoruba and Stormrider.
Ha Ha then endeavoured to go back to the inside
of the heels of Stormrider, but again there was insufficient room
to improve. RACE 7: Caravan & Camping Handicap 1400m When moving onto the track Banockburn struck the
gate post. The gelding was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon at the barrier and
passed fit to run. Glenn was slow to begin. Exit To Nowhere got its head up when being steadied
off the heels of Colin The Brave. When crossed by Throwdown rounding the first turn Ruember
got its head up for a short distance. RACE 8: Become An STC Member Superfecta 1500m Trouble In Heaven was slow to begin Crop knuckled
over on jumping. Crop overraced in the early stages and got its head up when being
restrained off the heels of Replay making the first turn. Passing the 300m Crop was disappointed for a run
between Ludlum and Routine Blue, and then was held up for a
short distance when attempting a run between Ludlum and Replay.
         H. Bowman (Ludlum) was reprimanded
for shifting in when insufficiently clear of Routine Blue passing the 600m causing Routine
Blue to be steadied. Routine Blue again had to be steadied inside the
100m when tightened for room between Etoile Bleue and Ludlum,
both of which shifted ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Megaforce
had blood in its mouth due to a laceration to the tongue. When questioned concerning Fearless Fred compounding
badly over the concluding stages, B. York stated that the only excuse he could offer was
that during the event the horse was pressured in the lead by Replay.
A post-race veterinary examination revealed Fearless
Fred to be coughing and to have a trace of blood present in its left nostril. Trainer Mr W. Prain was advised to present the results of a
full veterinary check, including the results of an endoscopic examination. Mr Prain was further advised that Fearless Fred must
barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next race start. SUMMARY Fines: Mr M. Mahoney (owner) fined $200not declare interest in horse (AR56B).
