 Race 1 - WORKSAFE VICTORIA MAIDEN PLATE - 1600M
         PARADISE LEGS was slow to begin and lost ground. CARTE D'OR
        was slightly slow to begin.  In the straight RAIN GIFT laid in under pressure.  Race 2 -A.L. CLARKE & CO. PLUMBERS S.V. 2Y.O
        H'CAP - 1100M  When the gates opened TEELOY stood flat footed and then
        jumped away awkwardly resulting in the gelding losing ground.  Shortly after the start LORENCE OF WODONGA shifted out and
        brushed EMITELLA, resulting in that filly becoming unbalanced. UNCLE SPEED, which was
        racing on the outside of those horses, shifted out away  before shifting in abruptly,
        which resulted in the gelding losing ground.  From the 700m until straightening GIANCARLO hung out.  After passing 200m LORENCE OF WODONGA shifted out under
        pressure.  Approaching the winning post, HEART ATTACK was disappointed
        for a run on the inside of MISTY BRONZE.  Race 3 - ALLAN WILLIAMS DISTRIBUTORS MAIDEN PLATE
        (1) - 1300m  On jumping away BISCUITS shifted out abruptly and lost some
        ground. Also on jumping away MY SPECIAL STAR was hampered when tightened for room between
        FINAL PLACE, and CRYING OUT LOUD which shifted out.  Near 400m MANUMA, which was weakening, then had to be
        checked when tightened for room between TRUE LADY and HELIKON which was taken out by
        TRIPLE CHANCE (D. Yates) which shifted out. D. Yates was reprimanded and notified that he
        must ensure he is clear of other runners when shifting ground in the future.  L. Dowson, rider of BISCUITS, which performed poorly,
        explained to Stewards that after drawing an outside barrier he was forced to race wide for
        the majority of the race, and approaching the home turn the mare had a tendency to lay
        out. Dowson further stated that BISCUITS had held its breath during the race, and in his
        opinion this contributed to the mares disappointing performance.  Race 4 - NORTH EAST NEWSPAPERS MAIDEN PLATE (2) -
        1300M  Near 1000m TULKARA, which was racing greenly, had be
        checked when tightened for room between PICOLO TORO which, after being brushed by that
        filly, was turned outwards and DARRIZANA which when over racing shifted in away from
        DUCASSE (R. Martin) which shifted in. R. Martin was notified that he must be fully clear
        of other runners when shifting ground in the future.  Race 5 -WANGARATTA STOCK FOODS CLASS 1 HANDICAP -
        1100M  Shortly after the start WINTERLY had to be checked when
        tightened for room by MEMBERS (G. Evagora) which shifted in. G. Evagora will
        be reprimanded and notified that Stewards would expect him to ensure that he is clear when
        shifting ground. Near 400m KENTUCKY CLAN which was racing tightly to the inside of
        PINERATE had to be checked when that gelding was taken in by TARCOOLA STAR which after
        being brushed by MEMBERS (G. Evagora) which shifted in slightly then shifted in away from
        that gelding.During this incident PINERATE was also hampered. G. Evagora will be
        reprimanded and notified that he must keep his mount straight when in similar
        circumstances.  Approaching the winning post WINTERLY was inconvenienced
        due to MEMBERS shifting in.  Race 6 - THE CHRONICLE MAY CUP CLASS 5 HANDICAP -
        1400M  Prior to correct weight the connections of NOBLE SULTAN 3rd
        placegetter viewed the Stewards patrol film.  Rounding the home turn ACHIEVED was held up for a run. In the early part of the straight ACHIEVED was inconvenienced due to RECORD SCORE shifting
        in under pressure.In the straight NOBLE SULTAN laid in when under pressure.
 P. Robl, rider of QUESTWIN was found guilty of a charge of
        careless riding. The careless riding being that near 300m he permitted his mount to shift
        in when not sufficiently clear of CELLER DWELLER, which resulted in that mare having to be
        checked. P. Robl was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at Midnight
        May 21 and to expire on Midnight June 9, 2002.  Race 7 - RADIO SPORT 1260AM 3.Y.O CLASS 2 HANDICAP
        - 1180M  On jumping away VIXEN was tightened for room between
        KHARTOUM and ASPIRING PLACE which shifted in.Also on jumping away TREBUCHET shifted in and
        made contact with CHARDARRI which also jumped away awkwardly. 
 Race 8 -WANG. RACECOURSE TRAINERS ASS. CL 3 H'CAP
        - 2010M  In the early part of the straight GO GET laid in under
        pressure. Near 150m ACUMENS PRIDE shifted out and bumped GO GET which then became unbalanced before
        shifting in abruptly when attempting to improve.
 Approaching the winning post E Marchant rider of GO GET had
        to stop riding and straighten the gelding which continued to lay in.  Race 9 - WEBSTERS ELECTRICAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP -
        1400M No report.   SWAB SAMPLES -  RACE 1 - TON OF CLASS, winner of the race. RACE 2 - SMARTEN CLASSY, winner of the race.
 RACE 3 - GLEANINGS, winner of the race.
 RACE 5 - WINTERLY, unplaced, random swab.
 RACE 7 - ARCHAVE, winner of the race.
 RACE 8 - BEETOMBA TOY, winner of the race.
