Race 1 - W'BOOL CHEESE & BUTTER FACTORY S.V. 2YRS OLD MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 METRES

After arriving at the barrier Decoding took charge of its rider and galloped for some distance. Decoding was then captured, returned to the barriers and examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon who passed the gelding fit to run. This incident caused the start of the race to be delayed.

Redmark and Skehn Dubh jumped away awkwardly and lost ground and Compactus was slow to begin. In the early stages of the race Compactus hung out. In the straight Decoding and Skehn Dubh had a tendency to lay in and proved difficult to ride.

Race 2 - SACKS THE JEWELLERS CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1100 METRES

On jumping away Aztec Copper faltered. Throughout the race Ned's Music hung out.

G.Hoobin, rider of Scenic Glow stated that he eased the gelding down in the home straight as he was concerned throughout the race that Scenic Glow had not stretched out in its normal manner. A subsequent veterinary examination of Scenic Glow revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Acting on a report from the starter that Ned's Music proved difficult to load and had delayed the start of the race, the Stewards notified Mr. K. Cluff, Trainer of Ned's Music that an official warning would be placed against the filly for her behaviour today. Mr. Cluff was further advised that he must produce a barrier test certificate in respect of the filly prior to her racing again.

As the stewards did not attribute the cause of the incident to any one rider they took no action other than to notify G. Murphy and L. Smith that they must do their utmost to protect their fellow rider at all times. Approaching the 200 metres Mad Harry had to be eased when tightened for room by Firetaine which shifted in under pressure. L. Race 8 - TAIT TAYLOR LAWYERS MAIDEN PLATE - 2200 METRES

After passing the 600 metres Gem Of Sierra (P. Marks) attempted a run where there was insufficient room between Trivial Quiz which was weakening and Friday My Day.
