 5 Jack's Daniel L. Nolan W. Bones Delayed

Race 1 - J. & J. KELLY STOCK AGENCY MAIDEN HURDLE - 3100 METRES

In the early and middle stages of the race Calcavecchia hung out.

D. Crozier, rider of Crenshaw was notified that he must ride all his mounts out hands and heels to the end of the race.

Race 2 - CENTRAL COURT MOTEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 100 METRES

In the early and middle stages of the race My Kirana over raced. Subsequent to the event the clubs veterinary surgeon reported that Dual Rajah was lame in the near foreleg.

Race 3 - SOUTH WEST COMMUNICATIONS MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 METRES

D. Larsson, rider of Umight, second placegetter wished to view the stewards patrol video of the straight with a view to lodging an objection. After viewing the video, D. Larsson did not proceed with the objection and the Stewards declared correct weight.

Acting on a report from the starter that Party Fun proved difficult to load into the barriers and had delayed the start of the race, Stewards notified Mr. Patrick McKenna, Trainer of the mare, that an official warning would be placed against Party Fun for her behaviour today and should the mare behave in a similar manner in future, it may lead to some action being taken. Mr. McKenna was further advised that he must produce a barrier test certificate in respect of the mare prior to her racing again.

After passing the 400 metres Saint Chris had to be eased off the heels of Easy Peasy. Party Fun which was following was hampered in consequence. At the entrance to the straight Touch Of Heart had some difficulty in obtaining a clear run.

Race 4 - AMAZON PRINTING CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1100 METRES

Acting on veterinary advice Gulfstream had been kicked in the stall area by another runner and was unfit to start. The stewards withdrew the gelding at 1.55 p.m.

Acting on a report from the starter that Will He Be proved difficult to load into the barriers and had delayed the start of the race, Stewards notified Ms. Sue Murphy, Trainer of the gelding, that an official warning would be placed against Will He Be for his behaviour today and should the gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may lead to some action being taken. Ms. Murphy was further advised that she must produce a barrier test certificate in respect of the gelding prior to him racing again.

Race 5 - KOROIT TRADERS KOROIT CUP - 1700 METRES

No Report.

Race 6 - MOYNE SHIRE CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1700 METRES

Prior to the horses leaving the mounting yard Yelgun Morn was resaddled. Approaching the 1500 metres the saddle on Yelgun Morn which was pulling hard shifted forward. W. Hokai, the gelding's rider, was then placed at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Approaching the 400 metres a piece of packing was dislodged from the saddle of Yelgun Morn. Subsequent to correct weight stewards weighed W.Hokai, rider of Yelgun Morn, unplaced, to ascertain whether the gelding had carried its correct weight. After weighing W. Hokai he weighed in at his allotted weight and stewards declared correct weight.

Approaching the 1100 Westrock Prince had to be eased off the heels of Yelgun Morn.

Ben Smith, rider of Westrock Prince when questioned regarding his riding of the gelding from the 800 to the end of the race stated to the stewards that he was unable to ride the gelding in his normal manner owing to Westrock Prince hanging out. Ben Smith further stated that he elected to sit quiet rounding the home corner and in the early part of the straight due to Westrock Prince hanging out badly. Ben Smith was notified that in the stewards opinion, he should have shown more endeavour to ride his mount out rounding the home corner and in the straight. C. Murfet, Trainer of Westrock Prince was notified that an official warning would be placed against the gelding and should the gelding perform in a similar manner in future it may lead to some action being taken.

Race 7 - OFFICE CHOICE CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1300 METRES

Due to an administrative error Dollar Dazzler was inadvertently not shown as a scratching when in fact Dollar Dazzler had been scratched in accordance with the rules. The Stewards withdrew Dollar Dazzler at 12.25 p.m.

D. Yendell, rider of Our OBE, third placegetter was severely reprimanded for weighing in 1kg over his allotted weight. After taking into account D. Yendall's previous good record, Stewards took no action other than to severely reprimand him.

Shortly after the start Old Red had to be eased when tightened for room between He's No Errol and Cat Weasel when both horses shifted ground.

Race 8 - KIDS DAY OUT MAIDEN PLATE - 1400 METRES

Shortly after the start Outlet Creek and Willett were tightened for room between Titanic Secrets which shifted out and Kincoy which shifted in.

After passing the 100 metres New Game had to be eased when tightened for room between Belzuma and Vain Carley (T. Barras) which shifted out slightly. T. Barras was notified to make every effort to keep his mount straight.

Approaching the winning post Taffeta Princess which was making ground had to be eased off the heels of Titanic Secrets.

SWAB SAMPLES -

Pre-race blood samples were taken for post race analysis from the following horses:-

Race 1 - Crenshaw, My Boy Alby and Calcavecchia
Race 8 - Belzuma, Shinacova and Cross Dancer

Routine swab samples were taken from the following runners :-

Race 1 - My Boy Alby, Winner
Race 3 - Easy Peasy, Winner
Race 5 - Swords Drawn, Winner
Race 7 - Our OBE, Third Placegetter
Race 8 - Cross Dancer, Winner

FINES & EXPLANATIONS:-

Darren Weir was fined the sum of $50 for his late notification of the following riders :-

Race 4 - Dianne's Miss, Race 7 - Vanity Streak and Race 8 - Harry I Am & Outlet Creek
